How is Trump attending a Knicks game any different from Obama attending games?

Of all the things to be pissed about, this shouldn't even be a blip out at the edge of the radar.

In the grand scheme of things and in a vacuum, it's not a big deal.  If you look at Trump's full body of work constantly golfing and going to sporting events (more than any other president), it becomes a bit bigger of a deal.  Also, people in his administration getting themselves luxury jets, taking their entire family with them on trips to Europe would make people who are actually fiscally conservative see it as a bigger deal.

It is also karma for all of the hypocrites (including Trump) who blasted Obama for golfing while president.  Obama on average golfed about 41.5 times per year during his 8 years.   Trump is on pace to golf over 74 times per year while president.  Not only that but Trump often goes to his own golf courses where he charges security service a premium for staying there (aka stealing taxpayer money).

If it was wrong for Obama to golf so much, then it is definitely wrong for Trump to do so almost twice as much.

Anyway, Trump's corruption knows no end so even if this hypocrisy qualified as a scandal, it wouldn't even make the top 500 in a list of scandals.

And, to the surprise of no one, Trump cheats his ass off at golf.

The other President known to cheat at golf was Bill Clinton. You can never trust a golf cheat. Once I see a playing partner cheat at golf, I never fully trust him again.

Because Trump is completely ... and always . . . full of shit.

And he just wants to be seen, and associated with a winner, because he's doing nothing but losing.

Trump trashes the NBA. So why will he attend Knicks-Spurs finals game?

I love the delicious irony of the progressive MeidasTouch organization validating the whining of people who can afford $10K-$60K for a single basketball game ticket. Just so they can complain about Trump. It's hilarious.

I love how you, once again, have missed the bigger picture.

This is hardly just about the well-heeled.

Over 10,000 working stiffs attended the Game 1 watch party outside the Garden last week.  Several thousand were there for Game 2.  The watch party for tonight, though, has been canceled because of fatty's attendance at the game.  Also, a five block security zone perimeter, with vehicular and pedestrian traffic shut down on 7th and 8th Avenues beginning at 4p, will fuck up the evening commute for thousands of people, many of whom couldn't care less about the Knicks.

Douchebag didn't even bother to attend his own son's wedding (too busy with Iran, he said, but he still managed to get in a round at his NJ club) but feels compelled to show his face at a sporting event. He couldn't care less about inconveniencing working people who just want to get home.  As always, it's all about him.

Why did you cut off the first part of my post where I responded re the common NY Knick fan/NewYorker?

Oh that’s right: because you’re a liar.  Pure and simple.

Since I'll be watching from home in Ohio, I couldn't care less if he's there or not. I do hope that ABC/ESPN or whoever is broadcasting the game doesn't cut away or drown out the boos he gets when/if they announce he's at the game.

Come to think of it, they may not announce him in the arena - they'll probably just show him on TV in a suite or something.

He'll be in a suite, probably behind glass. He may not hear the boos, or he'll pretend he didn't hear them.  ABC won't edit the sound in a close-to-live (7-second delay) feed (unless there are profanities) but FOX News, Newsmax, OANN, etc. definitely will edit out boos in their coverage later.

I read somewhere that with respect to travel & security costs, Trump outspends every other past US President, including Obama, by over a factor of 10.

Much of it is golfing outings almost every weekend, but he also apparently always takes the largest entourage (you need 'yes men' lined up 10-deep, apparently), stays at the fanciest places, etc.   And he definitely attends the most public sporting events, at great expense, and not just to the Federal government.  The local governments have to fork over more for security, traffic control, etc.  West Palm Beach, near where I live, tried to get reimbursed for some of their expenses for closing down streets every time Air Force One comes and goes from Palm Beach International.  Last I heard, though, it's all footed by local taxpayers and the city was told to pound sand.

The first part that reads, "Because I don't like New Yorkers or New York fans?"  Because I couldn't care less whether you like them or not, and it has nothing to do with the primary, media-related point you were trying to make and that I responded to.

Wow.  That's all you've got?  Your AI tools not working today?

You were NOT defending the "common Knicks fan or New Yorker" who is dealing with this.  You're the liar, dude.

do you think they'll survive such a hardship or could it end up being just too much?  i know traffic and delays are something new yorkers aren't used to

Obama never attended a sporting event during the playoffs of said sport, did he?  I don't think so but am to lazy to look it up.

I know he threw out a first pitch and he was at one of the college games when they played on the flight deck of a ship.

You're also dealing with Knick fans, who are pretty nuts to begin with and ride with their team.  Being up 2-0, I'd be not so happy if I lived in New York and wanted to attend a watch party around the MSG (with that said, go Pacers!).
