That guy is a legend at OU. I know he didn't graduate from here, but so many stories about him. I was on a run with a friend the other day, running through campus and he told me Newman was kicked out of OU for rolling a keg down Jefferson Hill.
I'd never heard this before, but allegedly there were cars/people coming up the hill at the time. I have zero idea if this Newman story is just urban legend or not, but just about every alum has a weird story about falling down on Jeff Hill after a night of drinking and/or when it was icy.
@bar-down following up,it looks like it might not have happened. The urban legend is that he hit a dean's car at the bottom of the hill with the keg.
I have heard stories about his legendary partying at OU though. Again, I have no idea if they're true or not.

@ohio-guy where is that? I remember the other side of the river had some weird cluster of buildings. I can’t remember the name of it. Past the basketball arena and across the river. You could see it but it wasn’t connected to campus

Jeff Hill is right off the main College Green area.
The Ridges used to be an insane asylum that closed in the 80s. The University bought it, but has done a shitty job of developing it. There are some offices up there, but a few of the buildings are condemned and need to be torn down. At one point some developer wanted to turn into retail shops and condos but I’m not sure what happened with that plan. I run up there from time to time. It’s kind of a creepy place.
There was a Netflix documentary called The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan about a guy with multiple personalities who was there for several years. He killed an OSU co-ed and pleaded insanity due to his multiple personalities. The documentary is wild - apparently they felt like he was doing well enough and gave him limited access to go into town and wander around. There was some debate over whether or not he actually had multiple personalities or if he was just a master manipulator.
When I first moved here there was a story about Leonardo DiCaprio buying the rights to a book about the guy. Supposedly they were going to start filming something right before COVID hit, but nothing ever happened.
There are a lot of creepy stories about the Ridges. Done legitimately sad stories out of there too. There is a cemetery behind it a d a lot of graves just have numbers in them. Apparently it was common for people to drop family members off there and never come back.
