@big-ryan he's correct.  The GOP won't be winning too much the next several elections.  Enjoy the run Butch.  The lates 2020s-30s might be a repeat of the late 1920s-30s.  If you play your cards right you guys might get even get Medicare for all.

Your claim that the GOP is doomed over the next several election cycles is pretty ridiculous. Dems are more than capable of completing fucking this up.

What I am enjoying is the repudiation of Trump. Too bad it took most of the country 10 years to finally wake up.

I think the GOP won't control all 3 branches again until the 2040s at the earliest.  And I think it's more likely than not Democrats get to at least 60 votes in the senate.  People who have been obsessed with Trump and/or blaming it all on Trump are in for a rude awakening in my opinion.  Demographics and messaging are what matter most and the GOP suck in both areas.  They'll eventually adjust, but it will take a few more beat downs before that happens.

Was reading something yesterday (if I find it I'll link it) that with the results on Tuesday,  Pubs would almost have to sweep the senate vote in '28 to get it back to 50-50.  It was truly a ass kicking.

He’s right, you’re just too dumb to see the long game…

Democrats should control the senate until at least 2032 when these seats are back on the ballot again.   It should be very difficult for Democrats to hold onto Mississippi, Kansas, and South Carolina.

What happened Tuesday was an earthquake, but I think you're overreacting.  As I said earlier, Dems could easily fuck this up.  Looks like they're going to make their first big mistake by installing Schumer as Senate majority leader.

Tuesday's results were fueled by a shit-ton of young voters.  The party needs younger (or at least relatively younger) leadership and 75 year-old Schumer has been in Congress for 45 (!!) years, is closely associated with Pelosi and comes across (at least to me) as increasingly goofy.  He's been doing this forever, and who knows how much gas he's got left in the tank.  There's a need for new blood and fresh ideas in that senate leadership position, but it doesn't appear that's going to happen.

In the other chamber, Jeffries is smart and tough and "only" 56.  I think they're ok there.
