@socks-shorts-1-2-3-swish This might be a female thing. Before the days of cell phones my dad would take me out in our neighborhood. I ran into a ditch waving at all my friends, I was so proud to be driving. Had to get towed out. The driving instruction was then switched to my mom.
@bar-down It’s the mouth. I still remember some of the things I said to my mom and dad when I was a teenager and cringe. And rolling of the eyes, the little sigh/ uh, shrugging of shoulders, whatever. Good luck. It goes away by college age.
I haven’t seen that.@bar-down It’s the mouth. I still remember some of the things I said to my mom and dad when I was a teenager and cringe. And rolling of the eyes, the little sigh/ uh, shrugging of shoulders, whatever. Good luck. It goes away by college age.
And she’s in a sorority. Ugh.
@bradstevens You haven’t seen it change yet or that behavior to start with? Where did she end up going to school? She will make so many of her lifelong friends in her sorority.
I’ve taught a few dozen officers to drive ships but trying to teach my daughter to drive was way more difficult. I gave up and paid for driving school.@socks-shorts-1-2-3-swish This might be a female thing. Before the days of cell phones my dad would take me out in our neighborhood. Change yet. She’s at Illinois.@bradstevens You haven’t seen it change yet or that behavior to start with? Where did she end up going to school? She will make so many of her lifelong friends in her sorority.
My first accident. 5 years old, sister 3, I told her I knew how to drive. We got in Dad’s car, I remember not reaching the peddles. Can’t remember for sure but I think I released the hand brake and we rolled down the driveway, across the street into the neighbor’s ditch.
My sister was impressed.
@hooky My driver’s ed teacher was the head football coach. He liked me, but didn’t trust my driving. ( May have been correct). He grabbed the wheel constantly, hit the breaks occasionally, and gave up on teaching me to parallel park. I still suck at that. One time trying to park right in front of Nicks I got a standing ovation from the guys up front. Think it took me 5 times. I’m a little better now, but I blame it all on Mr. Russo.
My wife won’t even attempt to parallel park.
