How many immigrants do you personally know? I have worked with and supervised dozens of them, granted, in a STEM field, so they are all highly educated. I have never met one of them here to suck the government teat. What do you make of the data that show black Haitian immigrants do better in terms of jobs, incomes, and social issues in the U.S. than native Blacks? Same for minority Latinos and Asians. I have my doubts about the present day actual impacts of historic deprivations.
This is easy. Immigrants do better as a whole than comparable natives, simply because the vast majority of immigrants are only here because they have the drive and desire to make something better of themselves. It's not an equal comparison. Compare U.S. blacks to the blacks who stay behind in Haiti. Then what do you get?
