I know he was part of the in group. I'd just never heard about them being pals. Not the kind of pals that leads you to be an interstate pallbearer. Doesn't mean they aren't. I was just asking because it was news to me, and if they weren't tight like that, this is exactly the kind of political stunt that doesn't sit well with me.
If someone murdered one of my family members, and a politician tried to insert himself to make hay of it, I'd tell him to go fuck himself. That's all I'm saying. I wouldn't be polite about it.

@goat this is different than a funeral. Also for his kids a pretty remarkable thing to know the vice president personally delivered him. My kids would appreciate that far more than Cortez

That's fair. Also, if they were genuinely close, then any gross sentiments dissipate. I usually assume the worst when it comes to the motivations of politicians.
How many is an acceptable level to you? How many would it need to be to upset you? Half? 5? Do the type of victims matter? If they were men or women or children or black or white?
But do the non-arrests count? From the looting we see that has caused businesses to shut down? Do arrests but dismissals count? Honest question. I don't know.
I will say the reaction to this overall has been encouraging. I mean aside from the loons. Everyone from James Hetfield to Lamar Jackson to Steven A Smith to Dave Portnoy has spoken out about this. Hell, even the New York Yankees held a moment of silence for him.
If this does end up being some deranged leftist assassin, they’ve done far far FAR more damage to their cause than they’ve helped it.
