Reddit was so fucking bad last night. I tried to engage (why, i have no fucking idea) and my god man. It's a cesspool. Again, everybody says "I'm NoT cElebRAtIng" but then goes to show zero empathy. What the actual fuck.That's unfortunate. I think that person needs better friends/acquaintances.
I'm not saying there aren't people openingly celebrating Kirk's murder, but I'm not really seeing it. That said, I have seen a fair number of people say they're not upset about it. I don't agree with that sentiment, but that's not celebrating it.
I think it's a tragedy when any person who was presumably a good father/husband is taken from their family and friends too early, regardless of what they think politically.
I’ve GOT to get off social media and I think this may finally be my catalyst for doing so.

We are doomed guys. Absent some transformational leader stepping up (i don't Pres Trump is that person) I don't see how this doesn't continue to devolve.

Maybe some is fake, but there are reports of “educators” and medical professionals cheering the murder of Charlie Kirk. An Assistant Dean at Middle Tennessee State was fired for her comments. Several teachers posted horrible things and people on X are calling for doxxing and firings. There are terminally deranged people out there if what’s being linked is legit or else somebody has an immensely sophisticated system for creating bogus shit. I guess there’s some of both.
There’s also a shot of some doofus jumping up and down, cheering the shooting, at the event on the campus. I’m guessing it’s real but maybe someone created it. Who the hell knows?

Walked the dogs with my neighbor last night. He's an unempathetic asshole, but I was surprised. He said "I don't want to hear anyone saying anything more than thoughts and prayers about this guy. Of course not. But the problem is still a left wing problem. At Utah Valley, nearly 1,000 people signed a petition urging violating the first amendment by withdrawing Kirk’s permission to speak because his comments are divisive. If we apply broken windows policing to that, those signers should be required to attend classes about the first amendment, tolerance, and civil discourse. That would be a small step in the right direction.

This country has a sickness. A real cancer and it comes from both sides. Neither side is innocent.
This is substantially a left problem. While individual conservatives toss verbal bombs, the scoreboard shows the left is far ahead, and not with just words, with disruptive tactics and conduct also. The political mobs are left. Kirk showed us how to do civil politics and the left wanted to keep him from speaking whenever he spoke. If you can answer why, you’ll see the point. Now he is dead.
