If you go to a Fever game, you will see fans who are young, old, black, white, male, female, gay, straight..and the home fans love Clark...as do her teammates. She is one of those athletes that you hate if she is on the other team, but love if she plays for your team.I'm with you, Mark. IMHO, it's much less about the whole woke/race/straight aspects certain Outkick/Dakich listening segments of the population focus on, and much more about those who don't think she has paid her dues, or won shit yet, with a generous helping of jealousy, topped off with the fact that she kind of comes across as an insufferable brat on the court at times.
Like I posted earlier, I didn't think the conservatives respected the playing of the race card, but I guess it all depends on whose ox is being gored.
I've talked about this before. Jenn White is a radio host on NPR. She's a black female. No matter what the topic, at some point she'll try and inject some kind of race or gender or ageism bullshit no matter if there's anything there or not. If here guests follow her down that road, the discussion becomes worthless. That's when I turn to Clay & Buck so I can prepare for whatever idiocy is being posted here while I'm out and about. You can imagine what the discussion is like when Clark comes up. This is the same damn thing.
.
I see this no different then what Jordan went through in the late 80s.
you might want to check your facts on Paige. There’s no excuse for the intentional efforts to injure Clark. It does seem like other players in the league don’t like her. I’d guess it’s more out of jealousy but I don’t know.
Maybe she's just unlikable? Her constant whining and bitching and moaning coupled with all the over the top press attention has to get old, especially with older players who paid their dues long ago, and it can't endear her to other players. I won't deny there's a racial and jealousy component, but I'm not convinced that's the primary reason.
It was a long time ago and I could be totally wrong, but my recollection is that Bird caught some flack early on for being the Great White Hope coming into the NBA and all the publicity he got before playing a minute. Bird kept his head down and let his performance on the court speak for itself. Once he got himself established, that's when he got mouthy and started talking trash, but by that time he'd been welcomed into the fold.
It seems the league players think much more highly of Paige Bueckers. White, straight guard that plays a helluva game but without all the flash and bang. Maybe it's not about being white or straight. Maybe it's about being Caitlin or Paige.
Holy shit. White Nationalists?

It truncated the link.
I should have never clicked on any of those WNBA tweets.

In short, Clark isn’t using her platform to promulgate “anti-racism.” She needs to declare openly she’s white and privileged.

So why are you offended when people want to defund NPR? If we can’t have an unbiased (both ways) national news agency, we shouldn’t have one at all.
I thought I saw this was in 29 mins too. That’s efficient af.
@jdb on our text chain one buddy played d3. One d2. 53 yrs old. Texting right now. Both say they can still beat Clark. One says he’d still be the best player in the wnba

Baby/bathwater.
Let them dump Jenn White, not the whole damn thing.

Probably correct. Remember when our women's World Cup team played that under-15 boys academy team from Dallas and lost 5-2?
@dbmhoosier the women are the equivalent of a high quality 14 yr old boys team. But these hickory huck buddies of mine are Indiana proud. Both maintain they’d shoot her out of the gym at the advanced age of over 50
Equivalent to Steph Curry. Still can’t play defense for shit.I thought I saw this was in 29 mins too. That’s efficient af.
But def not the 11th best guard in the WNBA

We were at the game last night to cheer on Holmes, who never played. Clark had a great game, a couple of her passes were sublime.
But in the last three games before last night, she was 3-19 from 3.
She has it in her, even with her lack of defense*, to be more than the 11th best guard. But 3-19? Also, check out the Fever won/loss in games she played vs not. I do not think it is her fault, I seriously doubt their coaching.
* Clark isn't the only one who can't guard their own shadow, Seattle was able to drive like crazy. Part of the coaching problem.
