@hhlurker this would be a good post for the OTF.   Let’s keep this board about politics not sports 🤝

whoever are the mods do you want to delete this thread.

You're right. I’ll go ahead and delete this thread and all the soccer threads when I get a chance

@larsiu I had an old law partner who was no good. Always cheating. Very skinny.  Wife a former swimmer.  Swimmer shoulders. She got wind he was up to no good and went storming into the office. Bypasses the front desk and goes straight to his office.  And they had a history of fighting. She knocked his tooth out once.

he had a huge office. Bar. Piano.  You could hear him running in there.  Her flipping chairs. Throwing furniture. Trying to catch him. All the while screaming GIVE ME YOUR PHONE!!!!!!!  SHOW ME IT!!!!!!  Finally she catches him. Tackles him.  Both on the ground. His arm extended with the phone.  Her body wrapped around him reaching.

PING. he said as god as his witness all time stopped. They both became silent at the ping of the text.  And he looked up at the phone and it was a chick who texted him lifting her shirt up showing her tits.

Frozen. They both looked at the Phone in total shock.  And he said, almost in a quiet mumble: what are the odds of that.

As a life long Dodger fan it pains me to say but this season is over.  Too many injuries and not enough gas left this season. But! When healthy, they still have the best roster in baseball(and it's not really close), they spend the smartest, AND have arguably the best farm system in all the league. They will be fine and back in the hunt next year. The dynasty isn't over. It's just taking a sabbatical.

Oh and FUCK THE GIANTS.( and brewers).

@mrhighlife by spend the smartest did you mean most?  They’re buying titles by overwhelming everyone else with money. And I don’t hate that. The other owners should spend more. It’s the same in soccer. But let’s call it what it is

At that moment. That PRECISE moment in the wheel of time, the odds were 100%. Always.

Also, obligatory Futurama:

There's a wild conspiracy theory on social media that the Dodgers are intentionally losing to the Brewers to bolster the argument that, hey, MLB doesn't need a hard salary cap; there's already parity.

Salary cap is a big issue in the CBA negotiations.

fuck both these teams. Tonight would be a good time for the Sand Andreas Fault to hit them with the big one.

No I meant smart. They didn't spend the most in 2026. That's the Mets. And the Mets are terrible. Not smart. The Yankees spend almost as much and haven't won a WS since 2009. The Cubs, Phillies, and Toronto all spend a ton. For what? 90 wins and a first round exit in tbe playoffs? That's what those fan bases like?

The current Dodgers front office is arguably one of the greatest front offices in the history of sports. They spend a lot BUT wisely. They have the best player development. AND THE BEST FARM SYSTEM. They fully admit that their #1 job is put out a team that wins at a high level, to make Dodger fans happy and keep us spending. And they deliver all of that in spades.

I'm sorry your team stinks. I'm sorry that the owners of your team are either greedy or stupid or both.  Not sure how that's the Dodgers or Brewers fault though.

Be quiet cretin. You're a Dodgers fan, you have no self-respect. Unless you're a Californian, or a new Yorker who is 80+ years old, you're a pathetic front runner.

You said "both these teams."  How does your toothless rant apply to the Brewers?

make sure you have it set for 2026. Next year the Dodgers will have the highest payroll. They will also be the odds on favorite for the WS to start the season and will win 100 games again. Their owners and front office are doing their jobs.

While you're at it, take down the "Why IU is Not a Big Time Athletic School" thread.

On second thought, leave that one up!
