That's not even a top 5 best Billy Gibbons riff.
I'm perfectly willing to substitute La Grange if the motion is seconded.

I was gonna suggest Just Got Paid or Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers, but La Grange works.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

Tie between the Stones "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" and "Gimme Shelter".This came across my feed today.
Lot of good choices (and a couple I've never heard of), but there are also a couple that I think that they got the right artist but not the right song. (For example, I'm more fond of Paradise City from G&R versus Sweet Child of mine and Start Me Up from the Rolling Stones compared to Gimme Shelter).
What is the greatest guitar riff of all time? We asked readers
Couple of honorable mentions on my part:
Poison: Nothing but a good time
Deep Purple: Smoke on the Water
Nirvana: Smells Like Teen Spirit
Survivor: Eye of the Tiger
Eagles: Hotel California
Chuck Berry: Johnny B Goode
Strong third: ACDC "Thunderstruck"

Had Thunderstruck, but had to eliminate it to make room for others. Opted to keep Highway to Hell and Back in Black. In a perfect world I would have kept it as it could easily be top 16, but we gotta have a few of those Atlantic Sun / MAAC entries.
I've had to limit myself to two Stones songs. Currently Satisfaction and Start Me Up. Gimme Shelter and Can't You Hear Me Knockin were my next two. I'm willing to replace Start Me Up with one of your two, but you gotta pick one.
Harrison is playing on that isn't he?
ringo has sole writing credit but it was a collaboration with him and george
no doubt george wrote that riff
If we're talking George Harrison songs, "Wah Wah" starts off with a killer riff.
"don't ask me what I think of you...I might not give the answer that you want me to...."

No Lerxst riffs and now this. What are we doing here?
I’m just messing with you. There’s way too much good stuff out there to choose from.
As long as Rush isn't on the list, I'm fine.
I'm going to be adding Bon Jovi - Dead or Alive and Soundgarden - Spoonman. Just gotta figure out which ones to nix.
Might get my first downvote....
Bumped Van Halen - Mean Street for The Offspring - The Kid's Aren't All Right.
....and no, he had not heard of Pipeline
...But he had heard of Hawaii Five-O, so baby steps.
I'll think about it. There are going to be a bunch over the next two days that I'll wrestle with. Limiting to 64 is going to be tougher than I thought. Might end up bumping a few of the songs from the same band. I hate to do it, but there are legitimately going to be some that deserve to get a shot in the tourney.

Saw them back in the 70s in their prime. The live show was much more electric than expected based on their studio work. Ended up being a better show than I would have imagined.
I am on vacation right now (sitting in line at Cedar Point). Had the kids set tiers on the ride up and at least separated the current list into four groupings.
The kids were unbiased voters, so I may have to veto some picks (Both Van Halen songs were a tier 4 for example). I hope to get the first round voting in a couple of days.
