@receipt-keeper I have no clue who that is, but he's probably awesome.
are they playing air guitars?
As a side bar, I attended a music event with a professional violinist who plays in many pit orchestras with broadway shows. She observed synthesizers are a real problem. They are now so good at mimicking real instruments that even musicians can’t tell the difference.

You can keep submitting, I will judge if it is worthy of knocking something on this list out (or if I decide it absolutely needs to be on there, I might do a First Four).
Gotta admit, I tried to not do a anti-recency-bias, but A) I am old and B) most music in the last 25 years has sucked.
I suspect that once we get past the first round this actually going to be really tough.
I presented this list to my 20 year old son and he knew about 80% of them, so I think that is a testament to the fact that I have raised him right.
@receipt-keeper I have no clue who that is, but he's probably awesome.

I presented this list to my 17 year old son and he knew about three of them, so I think that is a testament to the fact that I am a terrible father.
With that said, I will probably use his input in seeding these. He will be an unbiased judge. I look through that list and have trouble narrowing it down to even 10 that don't deserve a 1 seed.
Might get my first downvote....
Bumped Van Halen - Mean Street for The Offspring - The Kid's Aren't All Right.
....and no, he had not heard of Pipeline
...But he had heard of Hawaii Five-O, so baby steps.
I'll think about it. There are going to be a bunch over the next two days that I'll wrestle with. Limiting to 64 is going to be tougher than I thought. Might end up bumping a few of the songs from the same band. I hate to do it, but there are legitimately going to be some that deserve to get a shot in the tourney.
For the list I nominate the following dozen in honor of Brad
Rush Xanadu (after the 2-minute-ish lead-in)
Rush Limelight
