@bradstevens it’s not that they can’t it’s that they won’t. And it’s precisely what @larsiu said. They won’t work 6 days a week for ten years putting up with shit, washing cars, and grinding.  “If you’re a fucking savage and get out there and grind and work hard you can run all these people over. The next gen are such pussies.  For the small group of savages just run these Fing kids over. There’s never been as much opportunity as now.”  Dana white. Now he’s a lunatic but I do generally agree with him

@mrhighlife enterprise regional managers make up to a mil year all over the Midwest. And if you’re living in the middle of nowhere Indiana cost of living is cheap. People don’t want to work. Advance. On and on.

nobody wants to wait 10-15 years putting in the effort. Now now now. And they’ll job hop like crazy. First job that offers more they leave. Those enterprise reg mgrs have done every job in the org outside or HR on the way up.

kids today work harder than ever...at schooling. They are doing school work and school activities 24/7. They didn't create that system/culture. It was forced upon them. Is it any wonder they come out of college expecting faster gratification?  WE stopped asking for sweat equity.

Also, you used to be able to get a job out of college that paid the bills, including a mortgage. If you didn't go to college their were factory jobs that did the same. The entry level jobs paid the bills. So of course you got comfy where you were at. No need to leave.  That is evaporating and non existent anymore. Is it any wonder why the younger people job hop like they do?

It's amusing that people that paid a fraction of the cost for college, a fraction of the cost for a house and car, a fraction of the cost for pretty much everything else compared to current costs..think all people need to do is pull up their bootstraps and make sure they are living in a cheaper area of the country and they are good to go....else they are a dumb loser.

My parents first house cost less than $30k.  Cost of college was less than $500 per year (no wonder people were able to pay for college with a summer job - literally impossible now).  Cost of a car was less than $4000.

You think wages for the average person has kept up with inflation?  Hardly, but some just think people can get a job and they can live the American dream without handouts.

Minimum wage in 1970 was $1.60.  Adjusted for inflation, that is about $11.53 per hour.  Current minimum wage is $7.25/hr.  The only people making more now in spending power are CEO's and upper management types.  The people that the GOP thinks need tax breaks...which is so much more important than handouts.

I love it when people just put the laugh emoji under your posts because they're too stupid to come up with a counterargument.

@bradstevens for sure. But they could sell drugs. Knee replacement systems. Do a start up. It’s because most people won’t work that hard

@hurryinghoosiers I set out the path. And btw that’s what make America great again referred to.

go to school. Get a trade. Both partners work. You can have the American dream. But you have to work.  Somewhere people got the idea minimum wage jobs were careers. No.  Go to night school. Get a hustle.  Dont get pregnant. If you spend ten years working a minimum wage job you only have yourself to blame.

@hurryinghoosiers and the gross irony is that your party wants to take away from those who do work that hard to give it to those who don’t, or made mistakes, are 22 with 4 kids and 3 baby daddies and smell like weed at 9 am

no but store managers probably clear 150k but again it’s a grinder job. The grinders win. The job ain’t technical. It’s like insurance. If you suffer for ten years you’ll be in mgmt and then you just grind other people.

The point is that there will always be a limited number of jobs that pay super well.  Expecting “everyone” to get them is illogical, even if everyone might have a shot because of the current requirements/standards.

You should realize by now that 95% of what you post is laughable.

ok thats one sector. Sales. Not all sales jobs are equal in pay. but even if they were there is only so many of those positions available. Nepotism and cronyism runs rampant in that sector. Probably more than others. So management positions are even harder to get.

Being a teacher, cop, firefighter, countless factory jobs, used to be enough to buy a house.  No more.

I don't know if they pay that well but I know several Walmart store and area managers. They are indeed miserable pricks. All of them. They all look sort of the same too. I think Walmart has a lab in Bentonville where they grow them. As bad as they are though, back room receivers? Holy shit...
