So unless you get an out-of-nowhere candidate like how Obama crashed onto the scene in 2004, I think DeSantis has a decent shot if he were to try again.
I think you're right about DeSantis having a shot at being the GOP nominee in '28, but I think he has as good a chance of winning as Gavin Newsome would have. I think they're both viewed as too far left or right by the general electorate and neither would be able to win a general election (unless they're running against each other...).
My point is that bureaucratic nonsense like the endangerment finding harms the economy in ways taxes don’t.
One of the big winners yesterday is Iran and its surrogates Hezbollah, Hamas, and Huthis. Do you think Iranian money and influence found its way into this campaign?
Not sure what fuels your paranoic dread of the future but until 50% of our politicians are women… yawn.there are reasons for the current wave of female political success in Dem primaries and general elections.
@co-hoosier You cannot be serious. Poor white straight men. So underprivileged.
I don’t think this is an overstatement. I haven’t examined every race, but I think in every case where a female dem ran against a gop male, the dem won. Of course there are other factors, but there are reasons for the current wave of female political success in Dem primaries and general elections. It is not all about Trump
When you consider the many decades of boys getting screwed in k-12 education and the not infrequent hostility towards white males in government and business, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
Edit: Just read Mark Teixeira is an exception to my observation.
And the passion is incredible. Took a stroll through my Instagram feed today and it is blanketed with Chicks sharing celebratory stories about last nights election, even some guys too.
Republicans in my younger cohort would be flat out embarrassed to share a message Celebrating Talarico or Paxton or Abbott on their social media. And they should, it’s flat out uncouth to flaunt your politics like that.
What do you think it is about our feminized K-12 system that has taught young people, particularly women, to be so in your face about politics? That the results of these elections are so life and death?
Very serious. Women make up the majority of college students and receive the majority of degrees. I beluve women are now the majority of law students. Women are governors of many states and many more states after yesterday. Women run k-12 education where boys suffer from systematic and subtle hostility.
There are many reasons for male under achievement, some of which is the irresponsibility of the individual males themselves. But the fact remains, men are disappearing and this is not a good thing. .

I think you are having selective memory loss of the days from November 6th through November 10th of 2024. There were plenty of the MAGA faithful that were spiking the football with in-your-face celebrations on social media after Trump and the GOP senators won.
God knows I saw plenty here in Ohio with regards to Moreno ousting Brown.
Not sure? Hell, I talk about it all the time. Piss poor public k-12 education. That bleeds into higher ed. Remember the pathetic Ivy League presidents who appeared before Congress during the pro-Palestinian campus riots?
I think the message extends to any accomplished straight white male. People like us will only rarely win elections
You are so far out in front of your skis you see them in front of you.
But yes, I do think simply saying "I am part of the oligarchy" went away as a guaranteed win. We could have chosen oligarchy as our model back in the day and didn't.
Transferring the power from the “oligarchs” that built the greatest societies in the history of the world to people that have largely created shitholes everywhere they’ve had power is one way to go about it.😆
What economic plans other than taking from rich people can you share & when can I expect to see the benefit?
The positive from last night is it basically eliminated any neocon from 2028 contention most notably Rubio. Vance was proven right and his stock is much higher today.
One of the big winners yesterday is Iran and its surrogates Hezbollah, Hamas, and Huthis. Do you think Iranian money and influence found its way into this campaign?
Other winners were our many brave service people who might get a break from traveling halfway around the world and into harm's way for a poorly planned misadventure.
@el-zee the people voted against open borders and runaway inflation not large scale immigration in 24. Hispanics not surprisingly are much more concerned with foreigners that look like them than deportations or closing off the border. Humans are tribal, news at 11.

You're blaming race for the loss just like the Democrats blamed race for their loss in 24. Maddening. This admin is terrible at its job and may even be worse at PR.

Those are called exit polls and Hispanics themselves answered the questions. It had nothing to do with me. I know it might be maddening to you, but even Hispanics have agency and their own thoughts. Your fondness of Trump is noted.
