Sam Alexis was NOT on the list

Unfortunate.

Bailey looked decent early against weaker teams but was clearly not strong enough or physically able to play the 5 in the B10. I wouldn't expect that would be different this year. I was most disappointed in his rebounding.

@iu-bud He was not what he was advertised as. I didn't expect him to be Charles Oakley on the boards, but he didn't want to bang down low and never was a threat from deep. Nothing personal against the kid, but he wasn't what everyone thought he would be when he signed with IU.

@thehoosierhuddle Reed took the big money the Hoosiers offered and can't be bashed for doing so. He simply wasn't a fit for the rigors of Big 10 basketball.

@bigmike yes, more blame goes on the scout or staff than on the player. He did what was in his best interest.

I for one think Bailey would do great for IU if he was allowed back.

Who are you and what have you done with Sean?

He simply wasn't a fit for the rigors of Big 10 basketball... as a 5. That was the miss: expecting him to be a post.

@hoosiers94 They're not firing a coach after 1 year. Heck, Sherron Moore got 2 years at UM, and apparently there was plenty of smoke almost immediately about his issues. They turned over 90% of the roster, have a totally different focus on this roster and brought in a GM, that's as much change and admission they weren't happy as you're going to get in 1 year.

What's strange to me is that Dolson was a student manager under RMK and hired Cignetti. Who more than him, should've understood the importance of charisma in the great coaches, and they almost all have it, and yet he hires CDD. I have not given up hope on him, but it would be hard to find a more milquetoast coach at the P4 level. I subscribe to the fact that SD got enamored with him in that Bahamas tournament and went right to him once the decision was made.

no obviously they aren't .. imo they should have.   And if that's what Dolson did .. it concerns me ... hone in on one unproven candidate..  not good.

@unclemark I would love to never hear his name again.  But since I won’t, I will have some fun with the softest 6’11 guy I’ve ever seen on the court.

Davidson might be a good school for him...

Can you IMAGINE the reaction if he came back to IU??    It's funny to think about.  Whether he deserved it or not, he was one of the most unpopular players to play for IU in my lifetime.

@mushroomgod I don’t think Pam or Scott would allow it.  I mean even I felt bad for him when he got booed.

Concerning your last sentence......seems like it.  No other explanation satisfies.  It's a mystery.  I would guess pretty early on Dolson was feeling about the same as Glass did after hiring Archie.
