I must admit, some IU fans excel with excuses.
@gthomas Had to take a lot of forced shots because we had so fewer other capable scoring options. On a team with a better roster and another inside/outside scoring threat or 2, his shooting likley would've been highly valued and his numbers alot better.
Exactly. He was relied upon as the number 1/2 option on a roster that was very limited. On a better roster he doesn't have to press as much, play 35 mpg, and not as much is asked of him. The fact that we had very little interior presence on offense made us predictable and easy to defend, especially our outside shooters.
Has it been forgotten Alexis exceeded expectations in many ways given this stat?

Sweet 16 or bust for this upcoming season absent major injuries. DeVries has to deliver.
Kudos to @tjinman1987 for calling this yesterday (maybe even Monday?) and staying confident about it.

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

Sometime tomorrow morning, I will have a "reset" of sorts. IU has four spots left on the roster. Needs include backup primary ball handler/guard, perimeter shooting, a big wing that can play the 3 or the 4. I'll get some names and thoughts together and see if I can discern what the plan is heading into the weekend.
Fantastic job by the IU coaching staff and Ryan Carr thus far in the portal.
Thanks for the news! "BOOM, baby. Boom, Boom, Boom!"
One of my favorites from reddit just now:
"Look, y'all are a football school. It's not fair to be raiding the coffers of a basketball school like Alabama in this way!"

On paper, this team is sweet 16 or better! Should be able to pick up some very good pieces to complete the roster as good players want to play w good players.
damn Hoosiers! Got me excited again- I feel like Charlie Brown kicking the football!
Rumor of Long Beach State freshman Gavin Sykes as a potential weekend visitor. For the record, I really like his offensive game. He currently doesn't defend much and I don't think he's ready to start in the Big Ten but he's a really fun offensive player that would be very nice in IU's offense. I have not gotten this visit confirmed but it's being mentioned a few different places (including on the Trilly discord but not by Trilly himself).
Hall has to be the next top target, followed closely by another big and the back up pg, unless Moody is good enough to play 10-15 minutesSometime tomorrow morning, I will have a "reset" of sorts. Sisley will be the guy that can play the 3/4
@openwheel Watch his highlights from 24-25 season. Several pic and pops from 3.
Tucker wasn't the problem per se but too many players that were his level of player was. Do you think he's a starter on any of the S16 teams this year?
Not sure thats because of mis-judgement on DDV's part. Tucker was a top 15 guy out of the portal. If he was not DDV's son he would have had many, many P5 suitors and would have landed at a top school.
Him not living up to those expectations is a different story.

Looks like he and Hall are basically the same player (6 4 FR shooters), with Hall being a slightly better shooter. But Sykes absolutely looks like a good get as well. Have you looked much at Ace Glass from WSU as a possible wild card/wild man? Also, have you seen any mention of 6 9 Drew Scharnowski of Belmont?
Let's not forget as a fan base, 13 players that specialize in offense and are not plus defenders would make IU a Purdue equivalent the last two seasons where they finished in 6th then 7th place in the Big Ten..
..Yeah, wouldnt have been any good coaching involved in that stat.Has it been forgotten Alexis exceeded expectations in many ways given this stat?
