Does Sherrell have the skills to play the 4? His highlights show a very good physical inside player. His outside shot looks very hit or miss and not some great 'handle' or moves.
But there were so many dunks and blocks maybe what I watched just didn't have any room left for the high skill moves.

@kkott For sure... I'm not nearly as sold on Aiden Sherrell being as good as it feels like he's now being made out to be... but he sure is important for IU. He's a "dude", and we need a few more of those!
They are all always made out to be better than they are on chat boards. Remember woodsons last portal class. It was going to be the best backcourt in the big ten. Its the nature of the fan boards.
Trilly prediction gif for Sherrell to IU just posted. This one is likely done and will be announced soon.
Remember woodsons last portal class.
Nope. purged from memory

Spewing shit again but wouldn't engage my questions that clearly show you haven't done your research on the investments made over the past 20 years in academic achievement.@iunorth Could it possibly be academics for Sherrill? I have no idea whether that still matters at all or what his academic record is like but if IU is balking at admitting him then maybe that explains the delay?
Academics come on lol. That doesn't matter anymore
Will be fascinating to follow how Indiana will attack big recruiting for filling out the roster. Last season Michigan had Mara 7'3", Lendeborg 6'9", and Johnson 6'9". Illinois went with the 7'2" Ivisic, his 7'1" brother, and at 6'9" Humrichous and Mirkovic. The tallest MSU players were 6'11" Cooper and 6'9" Kohler but the Spartans had several good rebounding forwards in Carr and Ward.
Up front IU has Sherrell (when he commits) and Yigitoglu. I expect Sisley to step up in 2026-27 and provide help on the boards.
Rancik may have been a good complementary piece but that ship has sailed on.
Could Indiana possible sign a rebounding 6'8" or 6'9" forward to help with their big/rebounding situation?
If he had another year Sam Alexis would have been great in that 12 to 15 minute role per game.
@zeke4ahs Like I said, I'm not questioning the fit on the court, but the fit in the wallet. Just assumed with needing to sign an entire roster, we'd not commit 2 high/starter level funds to the post. Especially after how CDD built the roster last year. Guess he's seen the light in the B10 after watching UM and IL.
Sherrell is a Hoosier...it's a matter of "when" it is publicly announced and not if. I don't like telling people to calm down but y'all, don't freak out about Sherrell. Does he have the skills to play the 4? Yes. Will he also play some of the 5? I think so.
Someone mentioned Rob Wright...he's heading back to BYU and withdrawing from the portal. Tyran Stokes was mentioned and it seems like Kansas is the pick for him.
Eric Reibe is off the board to USC but IU was not an option after picking up Samet Yigitoglu (who was actually better in every statistical way than Reibe was).
Once Sherrell is publicly announced, IU will have four spots left. Jake Hall is a rumored priority to add shooting. He is a coveted player and has a long list of suitors. I think Rowan Brumbaugh could still be an option as well. They will be adding a backup PG (I think Del Jones is the guy to know there). They will then have two spots left and I would guess at least one of those spots goes to a backup 4/5...international players might be the chosen route there. Two names I've at least seen rumored: Leonardo Okeke (would have two years left, 7-footer from Italy) and Saliou Niang (2nd round pick of the Cavaliers but still has eligibility...more of a versatile wing/4 that I am attempting to manifest into reality).
Still piecing together what this roster looks like but every season I want the absolute best rim running athletic and defensive superstar wing that can come off the bench when needed and guard 1 through 5 and shutdown another teams best shooter or offensive weapon 2 through 4. Offensively can he dunk and catch lobs? That's all I want.
I wonder who the sixth man would be. Probably a guard. I don't see both Sherrill and Yig both playing 30 minutes a game in DD's offense.
