Looks like Bidunga is going to Texas Tech. Must be nice to have unlimited funds. Those high oil prices are filling their coffers.

I have no idea why anyone ever thought we had  shot with him he is  way too expensive for iu

They're paying him 5 million. He's way too expensive for basically every school out there except TT. That's an absurd price to pay for his production. IU dropping 6 million to land him, accomplishes what exactly?

That is my point why anyone ever thought we had a chance is beyond me we do not have the money. It was not even a pipe dream it was never going to happen

Even if we 'had the money' this would be a waste of time. He's chasing a bag and nothing else. He's going to leave a blue blood Kansas with a championship coach to go play at TT (after using up most of their money). He's not looking to win. He's been shopped every single year he's been around.  This is not who the staff should be building a team around.

DD might land a few decent P5 portalers, but I expect next season's roster to consist largely of guys from the Bellarmines and Wright States of the college basketball world. His best bet might be to emulate Illinois and bring in the Serbian National Team.

@surjay I don't blame him. This portal/NIL madness has to get brought under control at some point. Why not get yours while the getting is good?

I still just laugh when they call them student athletes still.

Correct I mean to put together a team with the talent of Michigan you have to have more to sell than just money. Money is a huge factor but many of them would like to win a title too and we cannot offer that. A guy like Dusty will be able to pick and choose who he wants but not us.

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball guard Aleksa Ristic plans to enter the transfer portal, per multiple reports.

His departure leaves the Hoosiers have just three returning scholarship players left on the roster with six players graduating (four starters) and three other players entering the portal. The transfer window for Division 1 basketball this year will be a 15-day period running from April 7-21.

I thought he was supposed to keep six or seven of these guys to quote " build a culture". Now there are only three left going to be just like last year a  brand new roster except two guys who played a little but not much.

Aleksa Ristic is entering the transfer portal. That leaves Sisley (confirmed back), Dorn (maybe) and Acimovic (maybe) as the three current scholarship players on IU's roster.

No one asked me but if Acimovic wants to stay on a very cheap deal, that'd be fine. Same for Dorn if he was on a reasonable deal and was not playing anywhere near as much as he did this past season.

I bet dorn only stays if he gets a raise especially now since most guys have bolted.

"Building a culture" is well and good but is probably done more on the basis of high school recruiting. So that was never going to happen in the first couple of years. And you need players who can play and win; there are no championships for "culture."

I never said it others were saying it. I just don't want to here the excuse once again about how he had all new players if he flops again next year. I think he might realize that he is not getting the woodson got four years treatment if he does not start winning next year. The guys are either bolting in mass or being creaned. I think he knows he has to win now and not in year four.

@arioznahoosier4554 Could be...but if Dorn is asking for a raise in order to stay, I can tell you with near certainty that he won't be getting what he wants and will hit the road.

One of the early names I listed on this thread has now officially entered the transfer portal:

Darren Harris set to enter transfer portal after two years with Duke basketball

Harris was a bench contributor for the Duke Blue Devils and he'd be searching for more consistent playing time for his final two seasons in college. Harris was a 4-star recruit that played for Team Takeover and he has a relationship with Kenny Johnson.

As a player, do you prefer to be a bench/role player on a winning team, or start/get more playing time even if you are losing games?

He most certainly should not get a raise he had like two good games and the rest he did nothing. But I assume if he can find a raise somewhere else he will bolt.
