I assume the competition is 10 times better than what IU faced in South America
@arioznahoosier4554 Maybe 100X better... but to be fair... a couple of Michigan's key players aren't playing, I don't believe.
better comp certainly would've made the games more fun to watch and provided a better gauge, but as has been said all along, the primary benefit to these games was the extra practices, building team chemistry, etc... We got those benefits just by playing in an international tournament, so we still got most of the benefit by just playing in any international tournament.

They (McKenney, Thiam) played in the first game but not second. Boynton played deep into the bench in both. Two additional players, Reed and Cosby, are in rehab and Liburd was out for the 2nd game also.
The games were free streamed and still available on youtube I believe. Cadeau looked horrible in both. Like a return to his 2nd season at UNC. His inconsistency was a worry last year, without the defensive horses beside him in the backcourt and the talent on the frontline this coming season he may get exposed as teams will be keying on him.

It was basically most of Lithuania's national team. Yes they were exponentially better than the teams we played. They have a lot of talent but none of NBA guys suited up. Their best player in the first game was Tubelis, the former NCAA All american post from Arizona. He made Michigan's interior look bad.

They beat Serbia mega super bet by 3, maybe the same team IU beat last August by 20+. Cadeau had a better game but fouled out again. He fouled out of all three games.. Could not contain his assignment. Last year all he had to do was ride them into a switch. This year he has to actually guard someone, something he's never been very good at.
Michigan isn't switching everything like they did last year. Estrella and Thiam are not as near as capable switching to guards and wings like Yax, Johnson and Mara were. For that reason I don't think they can use two bigs effectively if they can't at least count on one of them being able to guard on the perimeter.
Michigan also had McCoy, 5 star? freshman starter go down with a leg injury. Seriousness unknown currently.
