https://twitter.com/anthonyl3al/status/1945194045707337860?s=46 @hoosieralum07 ya this is a 100% fresh start now.  Leal is selling everything he has ever owned at IU.  lol.  Man this guy has no pride.

 I bet he didn't sell it all. It appears to me that he has too much stuff anyway.

@tammany Head scratcher no doubt.

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. @crazy-joe-devola I think Jess still is playing so maybe when he has used his eligibility up he can help younger players.

To be fair, is he expected to just hang on to all that stuff? For how long? Why not sell some of it? His waiver was denied, he's done as far as his college career is concerned.

@ams66

It's used free gear or free gear he snagged but never wore that he was given by the university on top of the hundreds of thousands of dollars for the scholarship and NIL.

The noble and classy thing to do would be to donate it to a charity or nonprofit like the Boys and Girls Club or the Hoosier Ticket Project for them to add some philonthropic value to the gear by auctioning it off in support their missions.

Dude was here one year and on a terrible team. What was he going to show the new team? How to get isolated on defense every trip down the floor?

I suppose the hope was he would be better coached and used more wisely by CDD than Woody.  To what extent that would improved his performance, we'll never know.

Do we have any indication that the current staff encouraged either Leal or Goode to come back?   It’s my understanding that when these players applied for a waiver that if granted they would be locked into IU.

IIRC this was touched upon in an earlier Hoosier Huddle podcast.  (That the players can seek such a waiver, and if granted they are placing the staff in the position of having to welcome them back whether they were encouraged by the staff to return, or not).

seeing as Goode was practicing with the team I assume that the staff wanted him on the roster ?   As for Leal?

@gerdis From the people I know down there... initially, the concept of both coming back was welcomed by the staff.  Very quickly, it became obvious Leal wasn't going to get another year, so everyone moved on from that.  Goode, however, most assumed he'd get a 5th year, and the staff was hoping for, and excited about that possibility.  Enough to let him practice with the team.  Leal was not given that same invitation.
