@kkott What I have heard rumored from different boards , including Bama is that Saban and Cig butted heads and got into screaming matches occasionally. With those two strong personalities, I can actually see that. And then that Cig was upset when he got passed over for head assistant positions and left, with a huge pay cut, when Saban to,d him that was a stupid thing to do. No idea if this is true, but Saban certainly doesn’t talk about him much and picked against him every time, I think .
