Wish it was regular season, but this is still good. A bit better tuneup game than we have had. Although Baylor was OK last year.
I hate the lack of a high-quality true home game in non-conference play (which seems incredibly likely) but it does appear to be a growing trend. Look at UK's home games for the non-conference:
Manhattan, Gardner-Webb, Bryant, James Madison, Grambling State, Sacred Heart, Northern Arizona
True home and homes are dying a very quick death.
@openwheel I doubt this game actually means anything, though. UNC has a new coach and probably an entirely new team. IU has won a couple "big" exhibition games and failed to make the tournament the last two seasons. It's a cool brand name matchup, but it doesn't count for anything

@tjinman1987 This exhibition game is a way to make money and not incur a loss.

Perfect game for this program. Looks like something. In reality, it is nothing.

thanks, @mushroomgod . I need posts like this. I have zero interest in IUBB right now. And, I’d say I actually now hate CBB. All that’s left are a few entertaining posts. Like yours.

I was in Plainfield this WE, going to a concert in the park, with a NC IU football shirt on, and I passed another guy with an IU shirt. I said something like "How 'bout those Hoosiers", and then saw he was wearing an old basketball shirt. I said "Oh, basketball", and we both started laughing. That's about it right now.
Sorry gents my IU pride won't allow me to get negative. That stretch after '53' was not full of pleasantries. Maybe it toughened us up, those that are still using o2. The upcoming season holds possibilities. Can't wait!
@hoosier-clarion There's really nothing negative to be said about the team from a standpoint. I cannot get pumped up for an off-campus pre-season exhibition game against UNC. It's a clear money grab from the company putting on the event. You're making your local season ticket holders drive up from Bloomington the day after the IUFB-OSU game for this, while not giving them any good on-campus OOC games for hoops. At some point, people are going to stop paying for these add-ons to watch games.
I guess it's a cool uniform matchup?

Well...
Waaaah! 😪
...
At least we play Kentucky... With at least that one, I dont care as much about playing cupcakes, since I am not buying tickets. Though they should give the home fans one home game every year that is a marquee game. Playing Kentucky on their shitty turf, but than playing elsewhere when it's our home game?
@openwheel A schedule still needs to be filled out and there will always be buy games, I am totally fine with that. The cheapest ticket to the UK game to sit in the roof is $98 face value. I haven't seen the prices for the UNC exhibition, but all these things add up and are pricing people out. Hell, it's $7 for a bottle of Diet Coke at BKF.

There are plenty of fans like me that desire all opportunities to see IUBB. I've got softer compliments for this game myself but there are only so many opportunities for non-season ticket holders to enjoy Hoosier BB. It's not a foriegn realm of fandom. Thanks for your reply.
@hoosier-clarion Season tickets are not sold out in Bloomington and many games can be bought on the secondary market for a reasonable price. This game isn't about getting more access to fans without season tickets at all. Some people were acting like this was a huge deal of a game, to me it's not. It's an exhibition game and a chance to see IU go up against an ACC squad with no risk of an actual loss.
I am going to venture out on a limb and say that this game will be on a streaming channel. We'll see the ticket prices tomorrow, but I'll guess they won't be under $50.
I just can't get excited about this "game" in June as football is coming up.

Sorry Sam but I never indicated there no ST's available or I didn't realize a ticket aftermarket existed. In my 8th decade I prefer less busy and sparser events. No more upper deck as I have enough dough to set in the lower bowl. So I don't shag on the opponent much as I'm a manageable 3 hours and 10 minutes from AH. It's just my preference to enjoy many IU events that fall in some of those parameters. Speaking out the other side of my mouth I was in LOS for the B1G Championship game. Unique opportunity as I never expected it in my lifetime to witness the 2k25 ride. I just couldn't miss it. Thanks for the back and forth. I do understand your stance on UNCBB as they're building a year behind IU.
