Everyone of those guys is going to cost big big money. It all depends how much money IU has because they will 100% have to outbid the big boys

I’m expecting another mid major all star roster and 18-19 win season.

@iugradman I'm not. That would be Devries just giving up. He knows that another season like the last one will not be acceptable.

We may not get everyone we would ideally like to get but I expect a roster that looks much less out of place in the B10 than the last one diid.

But if the NIL isn’t elite then what is he supposed to do? It looks IU’s spending will be middle of the pack.

I simply do not think DD will have the money to outbid the big boys on the very top players. He may be able to get one or two of them but since money is all we have to sell we are looking going to miss out on most of them. The only way it is different is if he has a legit 20 million to spend.

Hed better have 20 million to spend. Thats the buy-in at this poker table.

OK, maybe a little less, but you can figure whatever the needed number will be, its got to be up 30% or more from what top teams spent last year. The NIL hyper-inflation... So last years 15 is now 20.

That is what I am saying Woodson had what 10 million and that was considered high end. The next year people were spending 16-22 million. It is insane what it costs but it is rising every year and 12 million isnt going to get you anything special.

No1 wants to come to IU, we suck and are in a fishbowl.  Have to have huge money.  In a really bad spot.

Counting Sisley, it does appear DeVries has landed 4 solid recruits to build with.

The question of money is probably a bigger concern next year after a bunch of these young guys play and show promise.

Without some kind of cap or collective bargaining, the NIL will very quickly turn 350 teams into 30 D1 teams and about 150 also rans.

Why would NIL bankrupt athletic departments? It's donor money, not theirs.

And next year, as of now, no more portal! So hopefully, we get 3 portal kids w more than a yr to play, our recruiting class is as good as it seems to be- we can keep all those guys.

but I’m not stupid- someone will challenge Trumps order and win

Louisville took out a 25 million dollar line of credit last year to pay athletes.  So no not all schools have the donations in hand
