Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Winning a bowl/playoff game needs to happen.
8-4 + a competitive bowl performance against a quality opponent is my FLOOR for success.
Anything less will feel like a major step backwards.
@low-level-flyer I would say 8-4 needs a bowl WIN is the floor for success.
I probably could’ve formatted the article differently

We've been spoiled already. But yeah, that would be a successful season. "It's Indiana."
9-3 is my floor w Mendoza healthy. We need to beat both Iowa and Illinois and go at least 10-2. Excellent would be 11-1 or better. My how things have changed. Go Hoosiers!
@thehoosierhuddle I see 8-4 with a competitive bowl loss as the floor. But don’t get me wrong, I’d be disappointed in that season. But I’m picturing a season with no bad losses and only close losses to quality P4 opponents. And as someone that’s been attending games since 1986, that record, despite being a step back from last year, would be an acceptable year. Having said that, I’m expecting 9-3 or better and a bowl win. Can’t wait to get there for the opener.
We’d have to go 11-1 to get into the CFP again, and I don’t see that happening with this schedule. Of course, I never dreamt last season would turn out like it did.
9-3 would be a success; momentum sustaining. A bowl win would be icing on the cake.
I think bowl reps would love having Indiana’s exciting brand of ball, and they know we have a large alumni fan base. Bet we’d get a sweet bid at 9-3.
It just goes to show how spoiled we are when we can predict a minimum of 8 wins without sounding like an unreasonable fanatic and I love it. I remember when 8 wins was the best we could hope for and 9 was a pipe dream. Now to look at a season and have a realistic belief that anything is possible is what makes this season so intriguing. I will admit 8 or fewer wins will be a disappointment for me, but I believe a lot has to go wrong injury wise (knock on wood) for that to happen. I am all in on this coaching staff and team. I have the utmost confidence in them and am looking forward to an entertaining season. This is like the only time I wish I still lived in Indiana so I could still go to all the home games. 😆
I agree with what you say here. The only thing that would disappoint me would be a losing record and no bowl game. Expectations are a lot higher though. 10-2 or 11-1 with a home CFP game.
@the-watson if we are 10-2 tied for second in the B1G we are in. 10-2 and 4th? Slim chance. It really isn’t black and white.
