I'm not going to complain about a W in Ann Arbor, but it was like watching Iowa vs. Iowa.
I’m not worried or necessarily surprised by any of the outcomes so far. Now, if we struggle just as much against Minnesota next week then I’ll start to worry. A little bit…
Minnesota beat a good Iowa team today, so we definitely can't look past them. Still, and to your point, next Saturday's game hopefully won't be as much of a nailbiter as today's was.
I wasn't able to watch the game. Just looking at the box score, I'd have to assume Hoover is hurt. If so, that leads me to believe Cig has zero faith in Cherry. Was the running game completely inept? I could see throwing the ball sparingly if they'd lost faith in Hoover but just once? I can't see any other reason to keep him in other than having zero faith in Cherry.
The running game was ok, we kept running running running up the gut for 4-5yds. We ran too many times on 2nd and long putting us in 3rd down situations! Hoover was too flustered today and probably should have sat if he cant throw the ball! He has all the talent in the world, but decision making is inept! Grant Wilson should have seen some snaps!
This team man. They win in multiple ways. Cig got conservative for a reason. Remember a lot of people called for IU to lose the Ahia and meeechigan games. IU is 1/2 a foot from being undefeated and people are still doubting and bitching. Deep breath.
@hoosieralum07 nope. Stop doubting Cig. He knows what he’s doing. If he thinks Wilson is better he’d be in. Newsflash. He’s not.
Hoover was far from 100% but made the two plays that won the game.
Post game he said he almost didn’t play Hoover today. The kid gutted out a win.
@auburnhoosier what? Cherry is third string. Wilson is the back-up. Wilson isn’t the answer anyway.

Cherry is 3rd string. Wilson is Hoover's back up. Is Wilson injured?

Huge game against Minny next week. Also, they will host UCLA the following week so it would be excellent to get a win and then fire up Minny to beat the Bruins the following game.
Hoover's hurt. Cignetti acknowledged he was less than 100% today and Pete Thamel (ESPN) is reporting that it's an arm and wrist injury.
He was in pain after a tackle in the Ohio State game, and who knows what happened in practice this past week. Maybe things flared up later in the week and Wilson was unable to get meaningful practice reps.
There reportedly was talk of turning to Wilson today but the coaches decided against it.
Players don't heal when they're playing through injuries. They run the risk of aggravating the condition. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilson get the start against Minnesota. A bye week follows, so that would give Hoover a few weeks of rest (and treatment) and hopefully he'd be good to go for the final three games and the postseason.
A season-ending injury to Hoover would be a disaster.
A win is a win is a win is a win. We are 7-1 with 3 extremely difficult games out of the way. Still in charge of our destiny. Everything is right in the world today. Go Hoosiers
it looked brutal right at the end but the d pulled it out to get to ot a game we had to have

Minnesota is odd they win home games but got destroyed at purdue. It a game we should win but could be tough if we dont play well
