That second part is incorrect, but we don't need to discuss it here.By the way, this is not what Urban Meyer said (for those who are on the WaterCooler, this shouldn't surprise you). You can go to the recording at 1:06:40.Urban Meyer, during the pregame, was talking about IU's "soft" schedule. He claimed that IU's starters haven't been needed in the 4th quarter this season (I guess he was in a coma for the Northwestern game) and that that would adversely impact IU in a close game.
First, he didn't say they haven't been needed in the 4th quarter all of this season. Instead, he said in all "but one game"--the Northwestern game that I guess he wasn't in a coma for.
Second, he didn't say that would adversely impact IU in a close game--it was a question: he asked would it impact IU this year (after admitting it did not last year). Pretty valid question to ask coming into this game. Fortunately, IU answered it in the way we wanted.
You having an uncivil response doesn't surprise me
Exactly how is his response "uncivil"?
Saying it doesn't surprise him that what he said was misleading/wrong. Unnecessary dig because he doesn't like his politics
Do you believe it's "civil" to start a thread about how a guy is "full of shit" while mischaracterizing what the guy said?
I think you can state your opinion without the unnecessary shit...just like he did.
When you back up your opinion with things you made up in support of it, I'd call that unnecessary shit.
Or are you saying that Meyer said those things claimed in the OP?
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

Wow. What's your problem? I was in a bar. if I missed "but one game" that makes me a liar?
And I'm sorry but "questioning" whether IU not being tested much in the 4th quarter would impact them in a close game, followed by a prediction that IU would lose to Nebraska in a close game, clearly demonstrated his mindset. It was more than a question.
Finally, you're defending Meyer, who earlier in the week said, "Indiana is 2-0 to me, I don't even watch the highlights, I don't care." He disrespected our program and he's a clown.
He's actually worse than a clown. The way he handled the Zach Smith matter. The fact that more than 30 of his players were arrested during his time at UF. The fact that, as a coach, he had a history of prioritizing athleticism over character. He's the anti-Cig.
I can't stand him or Ohio State. But great job, dude, with your "gotcha!"

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
Adding in the needless ad hominem attack? (for those who are on the WaterCooler, this shouldn't surprise you)
Yeah.
This is a sports forum. Almost everyone here is an IU football fan. It’s a place of common ground and shared experiences. People generally treat other posters with courtesy, and it’s a nice change of pace from the rancor and divisiveness that seem to be almost everywhere else these days.
This guy, though, apparently prefers a different tone. Instead of saying, “you’re wrong, here’s why,” he accuses me of lying and then, in a lame attempt to discredit me, he makes a vague and bizarre reference to the board’s political forum.
And his personal attack is built around a defense of Urban Meyer. Urban Effing Meyer. Urban “Indiana is 2-0 to me” Meyer.
Maybe it’s not surprising. This is the same poster who, at the beginning of last year’s national championship season, wrote about "why IU is not a big time athletic school” (did I get that quote right @bradstevens?) and that “if you want to see what a real big time program does, watch Alabama football.” I did just that. I watched Alabama football. I went to Pasadena and watched them get crushed by IU in the Rose Bowl.
I’d bet serious coin that this guy has never set foot inside Memorial Stadium. He should stick to politics or some other topic that interests him like “parenting in the Netherlands.”

I think he's trying to dip his toes in to being the Fox version of Pat McAfee. I personally also think he's a POS, from the way he conducted his Florida and OSU programs. But I didn't really take his pregame thoughts all that personally, as an IU fan. And has been pointed out, outside the final score, he was pretty accurate in his prediction for how the game would play out. He obviously still has a pretty good handle on the game, coaching, big game dynamics, etc... He's a Cig fan, overall. Way more so than most other former coaches and players have been in the media. But he's jumped on the scheduling witch hunt, like most others have. So in the end, Phuck him!!! Ha ha.
I’m neutral on Urban. He’s been reasonably complementary, though we’ve earned it.
I don’t watch BNK or any pregame show unless it’s at IU and I’m not at the game. I like his Urban Analysis segments on YouTube — usually pretty solid stuff.
I'm also neutral on Urban. He predicted we would get ambushed and lose. So he's was only half right. And I really don't think that game was too far off from anyone's pregame reality. We won , it was close. A little closer than we likely thought most of us thought it would be a tough game and a close win.
Although he's somewhat supported Cig his attitude toward IU in general is meh. Hes an Ohio St fan first so I take what he says with a grain of salt
Urban made a pretty good call on this one. And, allllmost... (Well, not that close, we had 'em.)
I enjoy Urban's takes on technique and strategy, he knows a lot. And he praises our staff, a lot, as being one of the best in the game.
Don't care much about his character good or bad. He probably cheated on his wife yeah, but he didn't cheat on me. And he doesn't work for our school.

OK, let's do that. $10,000 serious enough for you?
Name who you want to escrow the money with. I'll wire my money in today. And I'll prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.
Or were you lying once again?
