1. Indiana is preparing to take on North Texas in the season opener on Saturday at Noon. Fans are encouraged to prepare for the heat and to arrive to Memorial Stadium early as there will be a national championship sign unveiled at 11:40 am prior to kickoff.
2. Curt Cignetti kicks off the third season of the Coaches Show tonight at 7 pm at Yogi's Bar and Grill in Bloomington.
3. Hoosier Huddle continues their preview of Saturday's game with a statistical breakdown, keys to victory and a look at a special family reunion for safety Garrett Reese.
4. Two Indiana football opponents kickoff off their seasons tonight.
- Rutgers hosts UMass at 6pm on BTN
- Minnesota hosts Eastern Illinois at 8pm on Peacock

2. The Countdown to Kickoff Concludes.
Game day is almost here. We have profiled nearly every player on the active roster, so check that out.
3. I have heard nothing further about Wyatt and Stephen Daley’s eligibility outside of Rhett Lewis mentioning on his podcast that Daley filed suit in PA.
4. There was one massive upset in the Big Ten last night as UMass knocked off Rutgers. It even got attention from Cignetti on his radio show with Fisch. He said he was watching during breaks and hoped that his players were paying attention.
5. It should also be noted that there seems to be no availability reports published until Big Ten play starts per the changes the conference made in policy.
The only player that Cignetti mentioned as “Questionable” was freshman TE Trevor Gibbs.
6. Big Ten Games tonight:
USC hosts Fresno state at 9pm
Michigan State is on upset alert against Toledo at 8pm.
Purdue hosts Indiana State at 7pm.
In other conference games, No. 7 Miami travels out to Stanford

A Monroe County Court has issued a TRO that will allow Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt to play tomorrow. ESPN's Pete Thamel had it first.

It is finally IUFB Game Day! Make sure you check out our Game Day Primer for all the pregame reading you need.
We also have a new feature called Tidbits for the Tailgate that will publish at 9am.
The Game Thread will open at 8am and Hoosier Huddle staff will be in around 10am.
1. IU and North Texas kickoff at 12pm ET on FOX and Big Noon Kickoff will broadcast at 10am outside of Memorial Stadium.
2. Indiana welcomes over 30 prospects on game day visits.
- IU is finished with the 2027 class.
- Do not expect many, if any, super early commitments from the 2028 class. This is intentional as well.
3. Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt were granted a TRO by a Monroe County judge. They are eligible to play today, but the next hearing is set for Sept. 11 to see if they can get a temporary injunction.
4. There are NO availability reports published by the Big Ten until conference play starts (new this year).
5. IU will unveil their 2025 National Championship signage in the stadium at 11:40am. From pictures from Fox 59 it looks to be on the South End Zone facade.
6. Hydrate! It’s going to be a hot one.

The Hoosiers pounded North Texas 52-16 on a broiling day in Bloomington. There were a lot of trips to the hospital from the game yesterday, so I hope that everyone has rehydrated and recovered.
1. It was a typical opener under Curt Cignetti, where not everything was clicking on all cylinders. I gave my reaction to the game yesterday.
2. The AP Poll does not come out until Tuesday this week due to games being played today and tomorrow. Do you think IU moves up, down or stays at 6th?
3. Some notes from the game yesterday:
- Eighteen Hoosiers made their collegiate debuts: Joe Brunner, Josh Burnham, Drew Clausen, Billy Gowers, A.J. Harris, Josh Hoover, Joe Hjelle, Paddy McAteer, Nick Marsh, Tyler Morris, Chiddi Obiazor, Tobi Osunsanmi, Shazz Preston, Turbo Richard, Quan Sanks, Brock Schott, Carson Williams, and Preston Zachman.
- Seven Hoosiers made their collegiate debuts: Keishaun Calhoun, Cam McHaney, Ben Novak, Henry Ohlinger, Jamar Owens, Jacob Savage and Sam Simpson.
- Six 1st year players made their collegiate debuts: Cam McHaney, Ben Novak, Henry Ohlinger, Jamar Owens, Jacob Savage and Sam Simpson.
