@middawg The ACC has a math problem. 17 teams can’t play 9 conference games. While I think they make the move eventually, there are other pieces to be moved first.

The acc doing math

In what world would anyone ever expect a football coach at IU to have ANY influence over the powers that be in NCAA Football?  Cig has everyone's attention . . . because he knows football . . . google him!

Simple solution is Non Conference games don’t count toward the playoff.

Now the winds are saying the SEC and B1G will agree to the 4 auto bids with play in games. Not a done deal but sounds like this is the direction they are heading. Fox  and espn are licking their chops.

The conferences and ESPN and Fox really show their concern about more games and added risk for long term CTE for the young men when more money is involved. Warms my heart.

Unfortunate for ND but not a bad idea.  Might be better just to just count P4 games

In what world would Alabama have IU's former coaching and S&C staff?

I just find that truly bizarre.

Oh, and our former HC as DC at Clemson!

It will be REALLY interesting to see SEC teams try to schedule another P4 team without playing on the road at some point.  Even more interesting to see how they try to avoid playing North of the Mason-Dixon line.  Auburn at PSU and Missouri at IU are the only games which jump out to me with SEC teams traveling north.

@esalum86 Alabama played at Wisconsin last year. Texas A&M is playing at ND, Texas at Michigan last year and at OSU this year

Assuming we’ll need a P4 game, we can either try to schedule not so great programs or go for big time home/homes.  We cancelled UVA, and I’m pretty sure Scott and Cig were aware the SEC could go to nine conference games with a P4 non-con.  Perhaps we go the route of some more big time home/homes.

I prefer that.  It’s much more exciting and the upside/downside is better.  Our season isn’t over if we lose to a top-15 team early.

We shall see.
