It's hard to tell what's a good or bad deal for our field's naming rights, but $2.5M/yr seems pretty good.
Good news.
Penn State’s field naming rights deal is $50 million over 15 years. Washington’s deal is $41 million over 10 years.

Yea. What I don't quite know how to handicap Penn State is a big program getting 2x our crowd each game, and Washington is pretty big too, plus they're in a decent sized city. Kentucky gets $1.9M/yr from Kroger.
Good info, Tammany, thnx. for that. Looks like we received a fair deal & Coach Cignetti needs the big NIL, especially with 2026 needing a large reload.

I thought NIL was going to be scaled way back once revenue sharing kicked in.
@unclemark I doubt it. Rev share kicked in this year and NIL pretty much stayed were it was before this year. The NIL clearinghouse could reduce NIL slightly, but I think they'll get sued and targeted by lawmakers such that it does very little. It's hard to justify telling young athletes they can't be paid what people want to pay them. Especially in situations where athletes are from less well off backgrounds.
At the end of the day, the money will find a way to the players, which is overall a good thing.
At some point we may see some donor fatigue setting in, but that hasn't happened much from what I can tell.
@unclemark NIL will be funneled through the schools. Collectives may be different, but they're not scaling back anything.

@hurryinghoosiers Can people sue if they don't score when USC score for false promises?
He shoots, he scores!, lol
