I don't watch enough SEC football to do much more than make a semi-educated guess, but it sure looks like Bama has the talent to be a top 5 team if they had shown up ready to play every week.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

@hooky They do. They are one-dimensional on offense though. But they looked like a top 5 team in the middle of the season, then slipped.
@kkott I think he was hurt. His most talent WR Ryan Williams also had a down year. Cuevas being out, he's kind of the safety blanket and a great blocker, hurt too.
We beat two teams (Ohio State and Oregon) that are vastly superior to Oklahoma and Alabama. We'll be able to handle either team in the Rose Bowl.
Either UA or OU will be a huge test for us.
Whichever team we end up playing in the Rose Bowl we will beat by at least two scores, Paul. Take it to the bank.
@auburnhoosier Bama's had that talent all year. Not that different than PSU, Clemson, etc... They can, but they haven't, and at some point, you are who your record says you are. I think they're pretty equal challenges for IU. One has a better D and the other is more well-rounded, but I don't feel like there's a huge advantage to one over the other. Today my thinking is that maybe we'd be a little better off playing Bama, especially if Simpson is a little banged up, but then you have to recognize that if we play them, they put it together enough to beat OU at home. Same if OU wins. At this point, they're all going to be good teams and tests!
This!
I worry that IU won't be deep enough to withstand the rigors of 3 games but pretty much everyone is banged up.
This is not looking good for Bama and DeBoer at all.

yeah, getting their a$$ beat right now
okie looks pretty good
I agree with this and yes, no matter what happens this has been the greatest year in IU football history already!@walt542 The same thing that happened to us last year: OSU and ND! We've had a layoff, which should help with recovery and developing a workaround for Daley. That layoff and the distractions from the B10 crown and the Heisman could certainly be a problem, but I have the utmost faith in our coaching staff to work around it. It's been a tremendous year to get where we are, but if we give anything less than our best, we can be beaten. But, we've still crossed a bunch of hurdles this year we never have, and have cemented a good chunk of our staff for next year, so regardless, it's been a great year. We know we can win it all, and if we don't, I'm confident we'll learn the lessons from that and come back better prepared next time, just like we have this year. Don't see IU and this staff going anywhere. Go Hoosiers!

Bama took advantage and got back into the game... finally. Second half will be interesting.
ETA: And that was before the pick six to tie.
Now it's going to be really interesting.
Oh my! Pick six ties it up!
well that turned around quick!
A dropped/blocked punt and a pick six turned what looked like an OU blow out into a tie game at half 17 all.
Maybe Im high on our own supply, but watching this game I think we win big. Like 4 touchdown big. Our defense will feast on Alabama. OU still cant run the ball even with their OL mostly healthy for once. I dont think its because Alabama's defense is on another level.
This game reminds me of the old Big 12.
