Working to figure out the reason why. IU has a lot of young depth there, so it's not a huge blow and that may be the reason, but I'll try and find out today.

Yea.  Hard to see how whatever happened is good.

May be as simple as a mutual agreement.

I am hoping not health related. I assume not or he wouldn't just quietly disappear from the roster page.

So I was guessing it's NIL offer related. Lots of tampering these days.

I guess there's always the possibility some academic/transcript thing didn't turn out right. (Hahahahahah, I'll let myself out! Academics...)

another challenge with signing HS prospects: they still have some maturing to do. Goes along with the proven production vs potential. Cig has the right approach, but there are always going to be promising signees who never really make it on the field for whatever reason, and far less likely with guys who have already proven themselves in college.

Why would you assume it's NIL related?  He can't switch schools now without being released from IU.  He had already enrolled.  I can 100% guarantee it had nothing to do with NIL.

Really? We aren't going to see him enrolled in the fall somewhere else, and on a team? Louisville again maybe?

I'll believe it when I see it.

I assume if he is unhappy and Cig is unhappy, we would give him his release. And I also believe the courts will strike almost any restriction down. Can a regular say, music student, switch schools at this time? And play the picolo right away? That seems to be the court standard.

Maybe it's not, you seem sure. And I don't know.

He'll almost definitely be elsewhere in the fall.  But what the hell does that have to do with NIL after almost 3 months on campus?

Now I don't know what the process is for him to be eligible somewhere else in the fall, but there will be hoops to jump through that will likely be easy because IU kicked him to the curb.  But to say this was about NIL and not about living up to the standards is a farce.

OK. Just half expected it was one of those *had bigger offers can you bump mine* which Cig would rightly have nothing to do with. And hed be gone just that quick.

Since not, will be interesting to see how much they allow to be said about why not living up to the standard. Skipping class? Late? Being a jerk? Wearing gold shoes?
