Always much easier to shake the rust off on the defensive side than it is the offense. Too many moving parts on O impacted by a long layoff.

It should be about 24-0. If Oregon ends up losing, they'll have nightmares about all the missed opportunities in the 1st half.
Folks, it is not an inevitability that you have to be rusty and struggle coming off of the buy. Is it a challenge? Sure, but it can be overcome with the right preparation and coaching. IU controls their own destiny here and I’m not going to be fatalistic about things just because OSU and Texas Tech haven’t looked good.

4th and 1: they run a wildcat outside run. Why?
4th and 2: runs a bootleg pass when their tackles have been getting smoked by edge rushers all game long

Exactly right. Defenses, just like in the early part of the season, are ahead of offenses. Having a “buy” very likely does impact teams, since they don’t have much live contact and reps to hone the offense. We’ve seen rusty offenses in New Years Day bowls for years and years. It’s nothing new.
