They have a post with over 1,000 responses that was started just a few hours ago. They were going into the weekend with Dillingham and DeBoer as their top two. Guess they were assuming Bama was losing and he’d be ready to leave . And now Dillingham has signed a new extension. Really will be interesting to see who they end up with. They are saying Jed Fisher had something on his background check.

Too bad.

Also Michigan having an issue with a background check is ironic.

Who wants to sign on to coach at a school where they know the AD shouldve already been fired?

I guess... Money talks. Should be a ton of good coordinators, who can recruit too. They can take a chance.

At this point, they should just hire the Ferris State coach.

Sticky situation at Michigan right now.

They are in an impossible position. They won’t fire their AD, which is insane given the hockey, basketball, and plethora of football scandals they have dealt with. It’s the dirtiest program in college since the 2020s began, and somehow their AD is untouchable. They also don’t have a school president which is a big negative (see: Florida settling for Sumrall)

Michigan already said their next coach will be an upstanding / scandal free coach. That rules out all of the “Michigan Men”

They will need to hire a coordinator if they want to have any chance of it not being a bridge coach. But their ego is too big, they will want a sitting HC

It's going to end up being an interim coach that isn't labeled interim or a NFL coach.  Horrible time to have to fire your coach.

@auburnhoosier - if he had beaten Ohio State, he'd still be employed

It's Whittingham:

Michigan set to hire former Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham as next head coach

Michigan is a mess right now.

I know how this goes.  Coach is fired for a scandal?  First, you hire within (Mike Davis).  Then, after a few years you go get a true proven winner (Kelvin Sampson)....etc etc.

Enjoy! Fun times ahead.

@hoosierdaddy Michigan basketball also has a long illustrious history of running a slimy basketball program. Most notable were payments made by a booster to several players to launder money from his gambling operation. Those payments tainted the Fab 5 era and in particular Chris Webber who was one of 4 players that accepted money.

They could’ve done a lot worse than Whittingham.

I suppose you're right, but he's 66!  How many more years will he coach?
