Yeah, the dots all point to these being mutual decisions.   It seems like a wild choice to not want to play for the #2 team in the country, with the best coach in the nation......unless there was a conversation and mutual agreement made.   Also, Walker Bryson sort of gave it away by posting he made his decision after talking with the staff.

I imagine the conversations are basically, "we want you here, the scholarship is yours, but to be transparent, you are unlikely to see the field for 3 years and it might serve you better to go somewhere else to get early playing time to better prepare you for your time at IU or gosh forbid another school."  Its either that or they told Walker Bryson they plan to play him at right tackle.....vbg

I doubt it's simple. I'm sure some or most is us recruiting over them and having some honest conversations.

But I also am sure the Cig Effect is driving up the price of 3 stars that we had commits from. We have a nice budget but not unlimited. Wouldn't doubt some guys if not expected to play right away may decide to go for a bigger offer.

If the coaching is good where they go, they may be able to maximize earnings by getting some PT and earning the bigger payday sooner. May as well take some bucks now too, as uncertain as football is.
