A win is a win. But so much to figure out.
The only way I feel better about this game is if ODU goes 11-1.
We need an ignore/block feature ASAP.
Yea. IU didn’t play well and there is plenty to be concerned about, but this thread is almost unreadable.
Not sure if I watched IU or Curb Your Enthusiasm.
It will have been a great day if Florida State beats Alabama today. Tide fans are having buyer's remorse with Kalen DeBoer as head coach.
I blame the bison.
@tammany Last year saw Northern Illinois beat ND. The Irish fans were far whinier than the IU fans on this thread. Not happy with the play of the Hoosiers but it's a win. Looking for Cignetti to get the team turned around in the next game.
@bigmike Yea, not the start we wanted. But we left 2 or 3 TDs out there. The team will evolve -- we still take a lot of portal guys and getting them all on the same page takes time.
It's not like Cig and staff forgot how to coach.
The Bison landing on his ass probably set the tone.
I'll take it. A win. Some things looked promising. A lot didn't.
Cig said some teams gel right out of camp, some teams take awhile to gel, some teams never get that togetherness. And that he never knows what type of team he has at the start.
Some pundits said we'd take longer to gel, without as big a core of JMU guys. Although I thought 'yeah, but a big group that were here last year with Cig.'
We won! Go Hoosiers!
I have no doubt IU will look much better in the next few games. The schedule sets up nicely for us to get in rhythm before our next true test against ILL. All we have to do is keep winning. Cig knows what he’s doing.
Not gonna panic, it's a win, BUT concerned about Mendoza. Not what I expected, if he struggles against ODU then what happens against B1G foes. Yikes

Right.
Last year was so incredible some things get forgotten. This is Cig and staff's second year. They're still in the early stages of building a program -- they have only had two portals and one HS class so far. We're still portal heavy and that is not easy.
At this stage we need these easier non-con games to come together and figure things out. Once this staff stacks multiple years of recruiting, I think we'll come out of the gates faster.
And yea, a lot didn't look good today, and unfortunately quite a bit of improvement is needed over the next three weeks. Teams evolve though, it's not uncommon to have a slow start. Fortunately we still won pretty comfortably.
