So, North Texas is not old Dominion.
And maybe our lack of run success was not them 'stacking the line'. They lost to Texas State, and gave up 337 (!!!) yards to Texas State ON THE GROUND.
605 total yards given up. 🙁

Seeing this Western Kentucky game so far. I think there's more to it.
Give up 337 rushing yards to Texas State it shouldn't matter at all if they sold out to stuff our run game. But it did. We had 375 yards offense, Texas State 605 yards. Of course we had 55 points so didnt need more yards, so is misleading.
Not saying we wont fix it. Cig says 'in Bostad I trust'.
@openwheel Last year our O line was better at run blocking and struggled at times with pass blocking, but this year it seems reversed. There's always going to be something to improve on. I think with this group they'll get it figured out. We'll also roll out difference offensive wrinkles. We threw the ball more today and I've thought that might be the case as we get into the conference games. Really love to see us get the ball to Turbo 3-4X per game on screens and little screen passes. Getting him isolated on the outside looks like a win and maybe that's where we'll go.
I saw confusion between tight end and receiver where a LBwas unblocked because the TE and receive left him because they each thought the other man had that assignment. Runs that looked wide open for good gains stopped for a yard. TE took the safety who was playing up, ran right past the LB who could've been sealed off then by the receiver, and we would've been rolling. One of the receivers was Chandler, not sure on the other play that was similar. It was odd the TE chose who he did a bit also.
So, not too worried, they'll keep improving.
Even including that opening drive we didn't even give up 200 yards total. Awesome. Feeling very good about our offense. As you note, we can pass too, a ton of weapons there.
So many curious and interesting matchups in the upcoming week 4.
Iowa blowing out Michigan could elevate them to knocking on the door of the top 10.
