I went back and watched the first half of the Center Grove vs LN game last night. Didn't really remember Sales doing a whole lot, but I wasn't focused on him like last night. Kid rarely leaves the field. Plays Safety, covers kicks, returns kicks, and obviously is a killer at WR. Very physical in tackling, blocking, and after the catch. And he's huge...to go along with world-class speed. With some daily Mike Shanahan tutlelage, Sales is a future Top 5 draft pick.
@bucketgetter On the Kyle Niedenrepp interview (I think it was his), he was gushing about how great he is at safety. Also gushed about Sharpe and said he's a great kick returner and guessed that might be a way for him to get on the field earlier in his career.

Sales reminds me of Plaxico Burress
Great comp.
In the fantasy world I live in, Becker is Moss and Marsh is Larry Fitzgerald.
@thehoosierhuddle Forget which podcast it was, but their comp for Sales was Randy Moss, which is a good one for his size and speed. I'm not greedy, I'll take either Plaxico or Moss.
@thehoosierhuddle Did Plaxico have that kind of speed? I was listening to the triple option podcast and they had Urban Meyer on talking about the 5 coaches he's most interested to see this year (think Cig was #1), and the other guy listed 5 players. One is a receiver from OSU "White Lightning" and they were talking about WR recruits and if Meyer paid attention to track times. He said anything in the 10.5s was the gold standard and usually translated to a 4.3ish 40. Believe I remember Sales ran 10:55 last year, at least.
@kkott Plax ran a 4.53…it was a different era then too as far as speed training

Any rumblings about an announcement timeline?
@the-watson it is unless I missed a post while on vacation. I know he put out clocks, but never saw an actual date.

I was optimistic for awhile.
Now I just think he's going to the absolute highest bidder.
But I don't know if our chances are much worse, with that.

@d-b-cooper - I think it's sort of one in the same (money & Royal). If Sales is truly waiting on Royal, then you would imagine it's just because Texas offer to Sales will go up if Royal leaves. It can't be about playing time as Sales is going to get that no matter where he goes.
What I would say is if Texas opportunity of getting Sales hinges purely on player (Royal) who is waffling and leaving Texas in the dark as if he's not 100% committed, wouldn't Texas just tell Sales he can have that larger offer and tell Royal they decided to go in another direction?
Sales is NOT announcing today. That’s what I’ve heard from multiple sources and is my expectation.
I have heard that there’s multiple unconfirmed dates next week, but nothing solid. IU is still recruiting him hard through this process and it’s IU or Texas.

@yothn could be and my comment is all speculation. He may not be considering that at all. It’s just speculation going around. Sales and his camp have done exactly what they said. Most agree it’s IU and Texas. So naturally they would talk about every scenario. Fun isn’t it?
