Thank you for reading Hoosier Huddle
Cig knows how to lock in QB's early. I imagine it didn't hurt knowing Sales will likely be a target for him. Great start, let's keep it rollin!
Coach Tino got the guy he wanted.
Great job jumping in head first w/ this kid and getting the job done.
Cig played that really well. Just saw an interview sometime in the last couple of weeks where he talked about being focused on portal QBs and threw in the disclaimer "unless we see a kid we really like".
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.
POTFB
sophomore with 4,330 passing yards and 41 touchdowns
Holy cow, that's a crap load for a HS QB.
Tremendous start to the ‘28 class!
Keep blowing on the dice.
@thehoosierhuddle great pick up......with recuiting this early the hardest part is to keep him a Hoosier thru signing date.
BEAT PURDUE
I think this kid probably ends up being a 5*.
The pocket presence and footwork he showed as a sophomore playing a national schedule is pretty wild. This isn't playing in the MIC. This is playing the best of the best in high school and looking good while doing it as 15 year old.
@irregulars without the wheels coming off & the entire program collapsing, I just don’t see this staff losing a QB recruit to a competitor head-to-head.
Two possible exceptions: it’s purely about the Benjamin’s and we lose a bidding war, or we lose a coordinator
@the-watson It’s likely that Shanahan is gone before this kid steps foot on campus but I have no doubt Cig will be prepared for that to happen.
This is awesome.
Old school, way, way back ... Those are Rick Mirer as a HS senior level numbers. And despite Mirer being a bust in the pros he was unbelievable in high school.
@kelly_32 I don’t disagree, which is why I mentioned the possibility of a coordinator leaving. Truth is, a lot of these kids commit to their position coach. If he goes, the chances of ‘his recruits’ walking away go up substantially - especially in the NIL era. I think we all get that.
The continuity of our staff has been a blessing. It’s gonna be an anxiety-filled day when our coordinators spread their wings. Always is, but these guys have been money.
