Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers have initiated their 2028 recruiting class by securing a commitment from four-star quarterback Lukas Prock from the Hun School, New Jersey. Ranked 69th nationally, Prock excelled as a sophomore with 4,330 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, showcasing skills that may make him a future star at Indiana.
Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers have kick-started their 2028 recruiting class with the commitment of Lukas Prock, a four-star quarterback out of the Hun School in New Jersey.
As it was with the 2027 class, the Hoosiers struck early on a quarterback commitment to start their class of 2028 and Prock is a great start. He is ranked as the 69th best player nationally and sixth best quarterback in the class by 247Sports’composite rankings.
As of publishing, Prock had offers from 40 schools, including plenty of Power Four blue bloods. As a sophomore at the Hun School, Prock threw for 4,330 yards while completing 226 of 309 passes with 41 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. The Hun School is one of the better prep schools in New Jersey.

– Savvy distributor who finds success within and outside of structure, and can place the football in tight windows across all three levels of the defense. – Verified hovering around 6-foot-2, 195 pounds with an ideal combine testing profile. – Threw for over 4,000 yards and 41 touchdowns as a sophomore against a national schedule that included prospect factories St. Frances Academy (MD), IMG Academy, Archbishop Spalding (MD), and Orlando (FL) TFA. – Superb short-area quickness testing translates when sliding in the pocket to find new launch points or evading defenders to create outside the pocket. – Possesses adequate to above-average arm talent at this stage, but makes up for it with anticipatory throws and an efficient motion. – Owns experience working under center in a complex offensive scheme for the prep level. – Shows conviction and decisiveness on drive ball throws targeting the second level. – Ideal feel for the game and enormous production against elite high school opponents set an extremely high floor entering his junior season. – Will need to continue enhancing his physical tools, but projects as a potential Power Four starter down the line.
What This Commitment Means for Indiana
A pattern is starting to emerge with how Cignetti and his staff will build their high school recruiting classes. After not taking a quarterback in the 2026 class, the Hoosiers landed Jamerson Purcell (’27) in early July of 2025 and now have landed Prock in late July of 2026. IU seems to like to start their class off with a quarterback and build around it.
Prock’s commitment also reinforces that Cignetti is willing and can land some of the top high school prospects in the country over other top programs.
