@hoosier-clarion There are so many great players on the team that at times some pretty good ones don't get the credit they deserve. Brady was 2nd team All Big 10 return specialist. He was sure handed, made good decisions and returned 1 punt for a TD. He also caught 14 passes of which 3 ended up being TD receptions.

It’s difficult to think ahead to 2026 at the moment, but I’m really liking this roster and Cig isn’t done yet.

Don't sleep on Byron Baldwin.

The way he blew up the return man after Pond's pick six td was awesome!

Has Kaiden Turner left or jumped into the Portal?

@yothn hes gotten interviewed a few times post-game, and he is such a class act. Went from being a WR1/2 of a P4 team to being a punt returner and he has zero complaints, just likes to play ball and win games.

I also assume our new kicker is a KOS? Looking at his stats, he has only attempted two field goals and they were both boomers (50+ yards)

This was interesting and quite unexpected.

An article from the HT, may be behind a pay wall, but it basically says Alberto wants to come back next year and compete for the starting job.

If he has a desire to get into coaching, this is a great decision.

Pretty wild on Grant Wilson. I wonder if he gets any NIL raise. Whats a guy like him get? $50-70k? Or is it I cant pay you much if any but I have a roster spot...

Glad Alberto is returning. He could get paid a bit elsewhere and start. Makes sense to stay here though. Probably make more and may end up a starter in the Big Ten in two years, or even next year.

after listening to Cigs full interview I’m not sure that this is accurate. I haven’t read the article on HT, but this sounds like a misinterpretation of what was said. Cig was talking about what Alberto said last year when they brought in Fernando. He didn’t sound certain that Alberto was returning when directly asked. I hope I’m wrong, but this sounds like there was a misinterpretation. I hope it’s true that those words came directly from Alberto though and not based on a misinterpretation of what Cig said.

Cignetti was noncommittal about Alberto running next season. He said we’ll see what happens.

@olympian97 - I may not be understanding this but are you saying Cig won't allow Mendoza to maintain his scholarship?   Because it was Alberto who yesterday said he planned to come back and compete for the starting spot next year.

no. I’m saying that Cig was asked about Alberto in his press conference yesterday and said that it was still unclear what he was going to do and the only mention he made about him coming back was a reference to last year when he said he would come back to backup his brother. If you have a clip of Alberto confirming he is coming back that’s what I’m saying I haven’t seen. I’ve only heard second hand accounts. You can find Cigs interview where he talks about it in yesterday’s press conference outside of any paywall. Cig then goes on to talk about guys transferring who just want to play. Just seemed like an odd thing for Cig to say if he was already aware of Alberto’s plans to return.

@olympian97 I saw on you tube the clip YOTHN referred to and it was of Alberto at the CFB press conference and he indicated that he was looking forward to coming back and competing for starting position.  Unfortunately, I am not good at copy and pasting here.  But it is there.
