Week Four Preview: Connecticut Huskies

The Indiana Hoosiers welcome the Connecticut Huskies to Memorial Stadium in week four for their final non-conference tilt. IU and UConn have played twice before (2002&2006), with the Huskies taking both games. UConn is coming off a 1-11 season and has one of the worst defenses in college football history as they surrendered 50.4 points per game. The offense was better, but only scored 22 points a game while gaining 376 total yards. As poor teams do, UConn turned the ball over, finishing with a minus-17 turnover margin.

The Huskies have made headlines recently with their decision to leave the American Athletic Conference and rejoin the Big East, however the football program has been left homeless. This change will not take effect until 2020.

Name – Sean Wracher

Position – Long Snapper (Freshman)

Hometown – Akron, OH (St. Ignatius High School)

Height – 6’4”

Long snapper is one of the positions that goes unnoticed if that player is doing their job. The Hoosiers had a great one in Dan Godsil, but he is gone to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Allen and the Hoosiers recruited Sean Wracher to fill in that spot.

#63 – Cameron Williams (Freshman)

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 215 Pounds

Hometown: Merrillville, Indiana

Position: Linebacker

One of Tom Allen and his staff’s many prized recruits, Cam Williams is no exception. The four-star stud linebacker out of Andrean High School in Merrillville, Indiana picked the Hoosiers over a bevy of other schools. The in-state prospect was ranked among the top 250 players in the nation per 247sports, a top-20 outside linebacker, and one of the best players in Indiana. Showing solid size at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, Williams has all the makings of a Big Ten linebacker. Look for Williams to disrupt in the running game and get to the quarterback. He is athletic for his stature.
