The Indiana Hoosiers are once again looking for a new position coach just a few days from the start of spring practice. On Wednesday night a report by Brandon Marcello indicated that wide receivers coach Grant Heard was heading to UCF. Hoosier Huddle confirmed with a source that Heard was indeed no longer with the IU program.

Heard served as IU’s wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator since 2019 and has been with IU since Tom Allen took the reins in his first full season in 2017.

After several successful seasons on offense, the Hoosiers bottomed out in 2021 and the wide receiver group was not immune.

The Hoosiers have had plenty of turnover in the staff room this offseason as IU has seen changes at offensive and defensive coordinator, running backs, defensive line and now wide receivers coach. IU will open spring practice on March 5.
