Fenix Felton joins the class of 2025 as another prospect to keep an eye on. The official visit of McDonough-native Georgia Felton took place on Saturday. There were many things that impressed him about his visit. Such as how welcoming him and his family received, the similarity between Bloomington and his hometown, and the family type of environment.
“One of the first highlights was when I entered the building and the reception my family and I received from the Indiana staff, my family were given a full tour around the stadium while I was in my position meeting. Another highlight would be the Indiana campus, having a (student union) with a movie theater, bowling alley and just a wholesome family type environment really impressed my family and I.”
Having everything close by was what impressed him most.
Fenix said, "What impressed me the most was that everything you need is right inside the stadium. I also liked the town, it reminded me a lot of our square in McDonough (Ga.)."
Fenix, one could argue, is looked over prospect by most major programs but has racked up over 10 offers and counting from schools such as Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Delaware and Indiana. The versatile prospect from McDonough, Georgia plays both the safety and wide receiver position in football and is also on the varsity basketball team.
The offer from IU stood out to him, he told Hoosier Huddle.
"I was impressed by the fact that this was my first P4 offer, and it is an incredible accomplishment for me and my family!"
New cornerbacks coach, Roj Ojong, has been the coach most in contact with Felton. “My most frequent contact has been with coach Rod Ojong. He is an extremely cool guy who really sees my potential.”
“As far as history goes, the newly hired coaches have made it clear that IU Football has two Big Ten championships, but what's most important is that it hasn't been for a while. The Big Ten Championship has been won by Indiana twice, once in 1945 and again in 1967, as well as 12 bowl games” Fenix said.
“No timeline to commitment, just playing it as it comes, trying to enjoy the process as much as possible before I make any major decisions!" Fenix told Hoosier Huddle of his recruiting timetable.
