On Tuesday afternoon Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson announced that sophomore wide receiver Caleb Cornett has been dismissed from the team. David Woods of the Indianapolis Star first reported this news on Twitter.

Cornett, a 6’3” receiver out of Ben Davis in Indianapolis had been suspended in August of this year because of an arrest for getting into a fight at 3 a.m. on Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington. The troubled sophomore was already on probation due to a reckless driving conviction in December of 2013. He played in 11 games in 2013, mainly on special teams, and has not appeared for the Hoosiers this season.

The dismissal will have no effect on the Hoosiers talent wise going forward, but is just another case of damaging news for Kevin Wilson and the program who are 3-7 on the 2014 season and have lost two commits, Tommy Stevens and Titus Booker to the 2015 class to other schools. The Hoosiers travel to Columbus, Ohio Saturday to take on the Buckeyes. The game is at noon and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
