Indiana University head football coach Tom Allen will not return according to a university source. It was first reported by Zach Osterman of the Indianapolis Star. Allen just wrapped up his seventh full season as the Hoosiers head coach. It was a season in which IU finished 3-9 (1-8).

Allen was named head coach in December of 2016 and served as the head coach for the Foster Farms Bowl after Kevin Wilson was relieved of his head coaching duties. Allen finishes his IU career with a 33-49 record over his seven full seasons.

Allen finishes with the fifth most wins in Indiana football history and took the program to back-to-back January bowl games including a final AP ranking of 12 in the 2020 season. However, Allen was just 1-5 against Purdue and went just 9-27 (3-24) over his final three seasons in Bloomington.
