We are now 68 days from the long-awaited 2020 IU football season. On Friday, September 4th the Hoosiers are set to face the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison, Wisconsin. Today we feature a top class of 2020 signee, Brady Feeney.
Name: Brady Feeney
Position/Year: Offensive Line/Freshman
Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 325 pounds
It was a game-changer for Brady Feeney when Indiana offered him a spot on the offensive line. Feeney had previously verbally committed to play football at Rice, when an offer to play for Indiana turned up.
If there’s a perfect man to add to the Hoosier offensive line, it’s Brady Feeney. His high school resume boasts leadership qualities, dedication to academics and extracurricular activities, and his intense love for the game of football.
At Christian Brothers College High School, Feeney was a three-time all-state selection. As a team captain he led by example and played all five positions on the offensive line. Feeney was ranked the No. 23 prospect in Missouri and the No. 54 offensive guard in the nation by 247 Sports.
In his career at CBC, they boasted an impressive 31-3 record, with 2 state championships and three conference titles. Feeney was named to USA Today’s All-USA Missouri team and was invited to play USA football, but was unable to attend due to a season-ending knee injury that cut his senior season short.
Included in Feeney’s mile-long list of accomplishments are the ones that make him the perfect player for Tom Allen and the culture he is building at IU. Not only has he been a stellar student and jack of theatrical trades, but also a selfless servant— he started a scholarship fund at CBC that raised almost $10,000 for band and choir students in less than 2 days.
Having been recovered since March, Feeney’s poised for a comeback season. Boasting the 6’4” 325-pound stature of a Big Ten offensive lineman, it’s certain Feeney will see the field in 2020– and with a chip on his shoulder nobody will complain about:
“I like to play nasty and quick,” Feeney told Hoosier Huddle, “I like to play very aggressive and be the first person to the point of attack. I take pride in being called the biggest bully on the football field. You aren’t supposed to be nice in the game of football.“
It is likely Feeney plays in four games this fall to salvage a year of eligibility thanks to the four-game redshirt rule, and returns for four more impactful years on the Hoosier offensive line.
