Heading into a homecoming matchup with the 10th ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Indiana Hoosiers have some numbers that play in their favor and some that may make you shake your head. Here are some numbers that may matter come Saturday afternoon.

1978- The last time these two teams met, a 69-17 Huskers win. However, the Hoosiers hold the advantage in the all-time series with a 9-7-3 record.

1967- The last time Indiana has defeated a top ten team. They beat Purdue 19-14 to punch their ticket to the Rose Bowl.

36- Number of tackles that junior linebacker Tegray Scales has made over the last three games. Scales’ play is a major reason why the Indiana defense is improved.

Zero- Indiana has not given up a rush of over 30 yards this season. They are one of six teams in the nation to do that. Last season the Hoosiers ranked 108th in that stat as they gave up 14 30-plus yard rushes.

0-5- Since Kevin Wilson has been in Bloomington his teams have not won a homecoming game. Indiana has a good chance at changing that on Saturday.

72- Nebraska is outscoring opponents by 72 points in the fourth quarter this season (78-6). While they have allowed teams to hang around earlier in the game, the Huskers have put opponents away in the final stanza. The Hoosiers will need to play a full sixty minutes to win.

4- Games in a row that Nebraska has given up a run of over 30 yards.

15.7- Indiana quarterback Richard Lagow is sixth in the nation and leads the Big Ten in yards per completion, averaging 15.7 yards per caught pass. He also leads the conference in yards per attempt (9.7), and passing yards per game (292).
