Jaylin Lucas Named All-American by Pro Football Focus

Indiana freshman Jaylin Lucas was named an All-American as a kick returner by Pro Football Focus. Lucas had a very productive second half of the season as he became a dangerous weapon in the kick return game. Lucas had 592 return yards and returned two kicks for touchdowns. Lucas is IU’s first All-American selection since the Hoosiers had three in 2020.

Lucas is from Houma, Louisiana and was a late addition to the Hoosiers 2022 recruiting class, but he was always a candidate for a breakout player.

“Just the twitch, the burst, the acceleration to go from zero to full speed as fast as anybody that I’ve been around coaching wise. And then just a guy that has the complete package of someone that has good ball skills, can catch, is a good running back, and speed,” Allen said of Lucas. “He is our fastest player.”

Lucas is second on Indiana’s all-time kick returns for touchdown list with two and trails only Marcus Thigpen with three.
