Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Dexter Williams II will undergo surgery for a “knee dislocation and significant structural damage to his knee” Indiana University Athletics announced on Wednesday afternoon on social media. Williams suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Hoosiers season finale against Purdue. He will be re-evaluated again after surgery.
Williams started the Hoosiers final two games of the season and appeared in four games. He completed 13 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 165 yards and one score.
The Hoosiers have one other healthy scholarship quarterback in Brendan Sorsby as both Jack Tuttle and Connor Bazelak have entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Broc Lowry, an incoming freshman, is joining the team as part of the 2023 recruiting class.
