The Indiana Hoosiers are casting a wide net in search for their 2016 recruiting class, but one of the big fish could be right in IU’s back yard in Lawrence Central (Indianapolis) running back Gerrid Doaks. The junior is ranked as the 18th best player in the state of Indiana as well as the 1,090th player nationally according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings. Indiana was Daoks’ first Power Five offer, however he holds offers from Ball State, Western Michigan, Toledo, and Miami (OH) from the Mid-American Conference.
Doaks had a fantastic junior season in 2015 where he ran for 1,242 yards and 15 touchdowns in his first year as a featured running back. At 6’0” 190 lbs. Doaks has good size for the next level. When he is not playing football Doaks is a member of the Lawrence Central track and field team. Below is Doaks' Hudl video from his 2014 season.
