Indiana's Season Opener Set to Kickoff on Sept. 1 at 7pm Against Florida International

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana football program's season opener at Florida International on Saturday, Sept. 1., will kick off at 7 p.m. EDT and air on CBS Sports Network, it was announced today.
 
IU will start the campaign in Miami for the second time in three years. The Hoosiers defeated the Panthers, 34-13, on Sept. 1, 2016.
 
Indiana also defeated FIU, 36-22, in Bloomington on Sept. 12, 2015, in the only other meeting between the two schools. Last year's contest at Memorial Stadium was canceled due to Hurricane Irma and rescheduled as the 2024 opener in Bloomington on Saturday, Aug. 31.
 
IU will begin its seven-game home schedule against Virginia on Saturday, Sept. 8. Kickoff time and television designation have yet to be determined.

Indiana will welcome Virginia (Sept. 8), Ball State (Sept. 15), Michigan State (Sept. 22), Iowa (Oct. 13 – Homecoming), Penn State (Oct. 20), Maryland (Nov. 10) and Purdue (Nov. 24).
